Hope you all had a relaxing weekend, or if not I hope you were doing something you enjoyed. We had a weekend in the garden preparing to build the summerhouse. It was delivered last week. They only sent one guy to unload it. He struggled so much on his own, I felt I had to help. Thank goodness I had my Weetabix it was so heavy. I did actually hurt my shoulder as there was nothing to hold on to so it was literally carrying it from the bottom and the height was leaning on my shoulder and my head. The young guy was exhausted when he left and had to find a lay by for the night as it was too late to travel back up north, so I packed him up a goody bag with drinks, biscuits, Sweets and snacks. He was about my son's age, so of course you have to mother them. Paul wrote a really strong message to the company as they said there would be 2 people unloading the item and under no circumstances were we meant to help. I'm sure you would have done the same had you seen how much he struggled. Then when Paul came home and said would you help me carry it into the back garden. I think I got a bum deal that day, but I've got muscles that would make Popeye jealous.
Anyway, I hope you like this weeks card, Phil's paper is really lovely to work with.
Products used:-
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Ornamental Corners
Sue Wilson- Caribbean Island collection- St Kitts
Phil Martin- Butterfly Field Collection
Phil Martins- Graceful Butterflies & Dragonflies 8x8 papers
Creative Expressions- Foundations- Coconut White Card
Creative Expressions- Foundations- Vintage Gold Card
Creative Expressions- Small Black Pearls
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Classic Rose
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Magical Butterflies
Tim Holtz- Distress Ink- Wild Honey
First I made my usual matt & layer of Black, Vintage gold & Phil Martins papers. For the larger layer I cut 4 corners, but cut them to make them look equal either side and glittered them. for the top layer I cut another 4 but cut them off to where you see a heart shape, glittered them and attached to each corner. For the focal point I cut another 4 corners and intertwined them to make a diamond shape and added sticky pads and attached to the centre of the card. I stamped a sentiment and inked while still in the die, I used sticky pads for even more dimension. I made 5 various sizes of roses coloured them and and added glitter and arranged them around the focal point along with the leaves , also added some tuille. Finally I cut 2 butterflies and decorated with black pearls.
See you all soon, Same time same place.
Have a good week!
Big Hugs :-)

Hi Tina, really beautiful card love the flowers an yes Phils papers are lovely. No way should you have been helping them carry things like that an no way should they of sent just one person to deliver it. Hope your shoulder feels better soon. As you can see by the time I wrote this it's been a very long day here an it ain't over yet lol oh well I sleep when I'm dead as the saying goes. Take Care Melody xXx

I know I shouldn't have helped him, but ha was struggling so much bless him. I'm sure my shoulder will ok. It doesn't help that we have a very long front garden and on an incline. Hey Ho! My goodness late is a long day. I have quite a few ladies who visit my blog that visit early hours of the morning.

Morning Tina, or should I say Popeye hehe!!, what a stunningly beautiful card you have for us today, I really love it, and the roses are to die for, the colours are so lifelike you can almost smell them, I must have a try at this one, and I love Phills papers also.
ReplyDeleteOnce your summerhouse is up you will forget all about the struggle or at least the pain of it. But what a wonderful thing you did to help the young lad, he must have been exhausted and what good sense he had to sleep in a layby, others not so thoughtful might have decided to press for home and I dread to think of the consequences.
Enjoy Tuesday, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hi June
DeleteWhat a lovely comment, Thank you so much.
I'm sure I am going to love the summer house, lots of evening sat out with candles and wine, and think what struggles!. I couldn't think of sending him off without some kind of refreshments, at least he had a little picnic in the lay by. My son always say's I'm a feeder as I always buy them food and treats when I go to the wholesalers.
Big Hugs June
Popeye, aka Tina XX
Hi Tina (or tuna as the predictive text keeps coming up with ) lo.l You've done it again, you have given us the most amazing bouquet of floral delight, like June has said, you almost feel you can smell their elegant perfume and feel the delicacy of each petal, they look that real, if only I could make such realistic flowers like you. Maybe I should take a couple of bags of petals to work on whilst we are away next week !! It may help my anxiety too lol (you know what I mean) !!
ReplyDeleteThat is your all over Tina, sending that poor lad off with a full goodie bag, bless your heart. And good for Paul sending a letter of complaint, I know we would have done the same.
Hope your shoulder is feeling more comfortable now hon.
Have a lovely day.
Steph xxx
Hi Boss
DeleteThank you Steph, good job they don't smell like your predictive text (Tuna) poo!
OMG Steph I will be thinking of you next week. Along with the petals I'd take some false nails to replace the ones you will be biting off.
I hope he enjoyed his goodie bag.. We still haven't heard from the company, how rude of them. Still got to build it yet. Yikes!
Talk soon Steph

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteI'm having a job to find many more words to describe your wonderful works of art so I'm afraid I'll have to stick with the usual ones. Today's card is an exquisite creation. The flowers look so delicate in their shade of lemon and they sit perfectly on such a beautiful background. I just love your style of cards and although I never copy anyone's card I do pinch.....excuse me 'borrow' pieces of other designers. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I do hope your shoulder is getting much easier after working so very hard....something you just shouldn't have been doing and I'm so pleased Paul got in touch with the company and hope you had a suitable apology in return....after all you did the missing man's share of the work.
It was so very thoughtful of you to send the young chappie off with a goodie bag to keep him going as I doubt it was his fault that the company had sent him alone to deliver your summer house.
Take care lovely lady and I hope Claire is starting to bloom now her pregnancy has gotten a little further.
Love and hugs Sheila xxx
Hi Sheila
DeleteYou don't need to find any other words Sheila the ones you use now are mind blowing, and all I can say is a big big thank you. You feel free to pinch/ borrow, it's the most lovely form of flattery.
Oh my word I felt so sorry for him. He said normally the summer houses are stored on the lorry standing upright, but ours was lying flat and in a metal frame, so we had to lift it over the frame to get it off the lorry. I needed some fuel after that so I couldn't send him away empty handed, plus a tip. He was so polite and apologetic.
Claire is looking so beautiful and I can see my grandchild growing, I just can't wait.
Take care Sheila, sending you love and hugs too

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card, love the subtle colours and the rose accents.
You should get more than an apology from the company that supplied your summerhouse!
I'll talk a bit more soon, have to fly now.

Hi Rose
DeleteGlad you liked the card. Just to get a reply would be good from the company, as yet nothing!

Love the yellow, so nice and bright on this miserable grey day.

ReplyDeleteHi Tina
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty, I'm so glad you used the corners like that as I wondered what it would look like (the answer is awesome!).
Your poor delivery guy, you were so right to complain. There are rules and that guys employers broke most of them.
Keeping it short and sweet. Got to go out two days on the trot at the weekend so in order to survive I'm limiting screen time as that makes me tired. In laws for tea Saturday and seeing my Dad and stepmum Sunday tea time. Sleepy now but realised I'd forgot to comment and that needed rectifying!
Time to wake Billy up for a wander round the garden :-)
Hugs and woofs and wags from Billy,
T x
Hi T
DeleteThank you for lovely comment, and blow the delivery guy, he survived so did I, but how are you. You sound really under pressure regarding energy level. I'm so sorry, but really I love hearing from you about you and Billy. Here is my email would really love to talk to you. dfc2210@hotmail.co.uk So glad you replied to this weeks card and would love to hear from you soon. I'm off to bed soon but would love to talk if you have the time. How is Billy, he is such a handsome dog, I really miss that close companionship, nothing compares to that. Sorry to waffle. You look after yourself and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Tina, I do apologise as I'm more than a day late. Sometimes I wonder where all the time goes!
ReplyDeleteAll the things like my After School Crafting with children have started up again. It's only once a week but that's enough!
Well, Tina you never disappoint! This week's card is gorgeous and the yellow roses are really special. I love the sentiment too and it's nice to see Phill's papers close up too.
No wonder you were cross with the company who delivered your summerhouse! You could have been hurt as could the driver. This happens such a lot nowadays and as you said the poor lad who delivered it wasn't responsible for the decision. Hope you have no ill effects. I'm off to bed now as I've got an early start in the morning!
Thank you once again,
Love Myra xxx
Hi Myra
Deleteyou sound like a really busy lady, but I'm sure you love it with the children at school, how lovely. Thank you so much for your lovely comment Myra.
I was angry that a company would expect a young lad should deliver such a heavy object on his own. After seeing him struggle my heart went out to him, and when I said I've got to help you I don't know if he thought my god what can this old duck do. But I showed him!.
My shoulder will be ok with pain killers and rest.
Good night night Myra, sleep tight

Hi Tina. WOW ! ! You have made another gorgeous card !!! I really love this one !! Such lovely sunshine colours. I really love how you have used Sue's Ornamental Corner Dies. You have really shown us just how versatile they are !! I love the sentiment you have used to. I have the Caribbean Collection and love it all. I do really LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Roses !! They are absolutely amazing Tina !!!!! They look just like real Roses !!! I have made many Roses from Sue's Classic Rose dies but they have never looked as amazingly life like as yours do. Phil Martin's papers look great. I don't have any of his papers or stamps but that may have to change when I go to Alley Palley !! I have not been there for a year and half now and I was very excited to be going and trying to save my money to go and then yesterday we got the results for Charilie-puss. He has been loosing a lot of weight lately and he had a blood test done and he has an overactive thyroid gland. We don't have any pet insurance and the vet says it will cost almost £500 pounds to put things right !!!!! We just don't know what to do. Steve keeps saying to me don't worry about it we will sort it out. I have said to him maybe we should not go to Alley Palley as I would just feel so guilty. I think we should investigate the cats protection league or the PDSA and see if we can get help from someone else. The cat was a feral cat that was found as a kitten near where I worked at that time. I took him in as no one else claimed him or wanted him. He is a wonderful cat and he is "my baby". x x x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tina for sharing another of your beautiful cards. You are so inspiring with your amazing creations. I do hope you are feeling better after hurting your shoulder. I agree with you, that poor young man should not have been expected to do all that heavy lifting by himself. It was very wrong of his employers to do that to him. It was wrong of you to help him and put yourself at risk to but I know if it was me I would have done exactly the same as you did !!! Sending you and your family lots of love and hugs Tina Iove from Tres x x x
Hi Tres
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a fantastic comment Tres. What day are you going to ally pally? If Claire is up to it I'm hoping to go Saturday. I'm so sorry to hear that your lovely Charlie-puss has to have an operation, poor little boy. You really shouldn't feel guilty about going to ally pally as it was you who gave Carlie a good home, and he sounds thoroughly spoilt, as they should be.In our 36yrs of marriage we have taken on 4 feral cats. Darcey we actually went to the Blue Cross to give her a home, then there was Purdy when we moved to where we live now 16yrs ago, it took 3 years to encourage her to come indoors but one wet and windy October day she realised where she needed to be and that was sprawled out on our settee. I don't think she ventured outside for months just in case she wouldn't be allowed back in, and finally our latest two kitties Bubble & Squeak. All these 4 feral puss cats all had/have such gentle natures and I have/am loving every single one of them.
It would be lovely to meet you if you decide to go to ally pally. If not see you same place same time next week on my blog.
Love & hugs to you too Tres.

Hi Tina. All of your cats sound so lovely. I think I have seen photos of Bubble and squeak that you posted on your blog a while ago. They look soooo cute !! My cat Charlie is now so spoilt that he just gets whatever he wants on demand !! He is very naughty and rules over our two doggies !! I am so pleased to tell you that myself and Steve have decided that we will be going to Alley Palley !! I have not been to any craft fairs or craft shops in a very long time so Steve said thats it, we are going !! We are going to go on the Saturday as I had already bought the tickets a while ago. I am really excited to be going and I would really love to meet you. We will try our best to be there as early as we can but I struggle in the mornings because of the illness. I think I am going to try and make one of Sue's flowers to wear so maybe you could recognise me. Please let me know what you want to do. Maybe we could decide on a time and a place to meet. I am nervous but excited !! Just leave a reply on your blog and I will respond back to you. Lots of love from Tres x x x
DeleteHi Tres
DeleteGlad to hear you are going to Ally Pally, I've never been there before so I don't know the layout. If you make a flower let me know what flower and the colour and I'll look out for you or you could email me dfc2210@hotmail.co.uk and we could swap mobile numbers . My daughter Claire is coming with me, we hope to get there about 11,ish.
I am really going out of my comfort zone just going to a crowded place, and to meet people too. I'm nervous too but looking forward to it also.
