Good Tuesday morning everyone
Well so glad that weeks over. First of all I would like to thank everyone for your lovely and reassuring comments for Claire, you are all so lovely and caring and I passed them all onto Claire, and it really brought a smile to her face. Also thank you for the lovely comments on my tutorials
last week my car went in the garage to have a door lock fixed, the mechanics of the drivers window replaced and a couple of bulbs in the dashboard replaced, and we came away £640 lighter. I got a call from Craig to say he had broken down with brake problems, so had to be towed to a garage, 2 days later, he went home with the car £460 lighter. I also got a phone call from Paul from the airport to say while he was in Jersey on work he had left his interior light on and his battery was flat. Luckily the airport has to deal with people like this everyday, so they jump started him and said just don't stall the car or you're on your own. At that moment I thought that's it I'm getting rid of the cars and I'm going to buy a pony and trap, at least it only needs some hay and somewhere to graze, and you even get something to put on the roses.
After Claire went back to the doctors she rang to say that it is quite likely that she will have this pain until the baby arrives. The pain is now in her coccyx and down her left leg . He has given her a less powerful pain killer and has reassured her it won't harm the baby, she had another session at the osteopath's and has another session this Friday. Fingers crossed it helps.
Craig came home for a few days as he wasn't feeling too special and needed some mum pampering time, luckily he was on holiday, but a painful one. When he arrived he came in the workroom with me. He pulled up a armchair next to me and asked if I had anything to alter the look of a photo frame he had just bought. I said how about gilding flakes, he chose his colour and asked to have a go. Well just over 3 hours later I finished the frame and Craig had enjoyed the same amount of time on his XBox. He went home Saturday afternoon with a cooked chicken, a large portion of Lasagne, Bacon, Cheese & Chocolate and lots of other goodies I hide in my workroom for when my two visit. I love to send them home happy with a box full of goodies.
Because of all the running around this week I haven't had much time to do as many poinsettias for the card, and I really needed to get started on my nieces wedding invitations too, so I hope you are not too disappointed this week.
Here Goes!
Hope you like it.

How to make:-
First, I mat and layered the red and coconut card onto an 8x8 white card, and embossed with the Swiss dots EF. I cut a pierced frame and put sticky pads on the back and set aside. I cut a piece of red card slightly smaller than the pierced frame and covered it with a sticky sheet. I then cut out the Joy to the world die and cut it to the same size as the red card. I then took the top layer of the sticky sheet and placed the JTTW focal point onto the sticky sheet. I put some waxed paper over the top and rubbed it all over to make sure it had stuck firmly, then I sprinkled the glitter over it and burnished so it all unwanted glitter to put back in the pot. Next I put the frame I had cut earlier and placed over the focal point. On the back of the focal point I put sticky pads and set aside again. I cut 12 little corner dies out and glittered them. I attached the first 4 in each corner of the 8x8 card, then attached 4 more to each corner of the focal point, the remaining 4 I cut the fluer de lis part off and hooked it to the middle of the frame on the front and glued it in place, the other part of the corner I glued to the back of the frame. I then attached the frame to the card. Finally I cut a poinsettia out and covered it with glitter, I cut the poinsettia open petal out in red bit didn't stick them to the petals so that it gave a more dimensional look I cut some leaves added a bow made from bakers twine and glued to the corner with the flower. OK the final final thing I did was add some pearls.
I am hoping to do a tutorial this week, of what I don't know yet because I would like to get the fancy piece of my niece's wedding invitations done. If I do get time it will be on Thursday or maybe Friday.
See you same time same place next week for my card though. Thank you all again!
Big Hugs :-)

Hello lovely lady,
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible week you had and boy the garage has done well out of your family this week. I do hope the Osteopath can work his magic on Claire she certainly could do without that pain...fingers crossed for her.
Hmmmm....Tina I know cars can be expensive....but a pony and trap in this weather? You'd definitely need a sou'wester and wellies!!
Haha!
....and now to your stunning card and as always I love the exquisiteness of it and I really don't think it needs any more poinsettias on it as it's perfect just the way it is and the Elegant Laced Edger looks so pretty....that's another one I may need Tina. Thank you so much for all your wonderful inspiration and I do hope you'll have a much easier time this week. Big hugs to you.
Love Sheila xxx
Hello Sheila
DeleteBy the end of last week I was willing to wear black dust bin bags and one of those umbrella hats and asda bags for wellies as I couldn't have afforded to by a sou'wester and proper wellies. What a sight!, Still fancy a pony though.
Thank you for your lovely comment Sheila, it really is always lovely to hear from you. Thinking of you.

Tina XX
Now you have me tittering to myself with the picture of you in a black bin bag (although the blue ones would be a much more fetching colour!) and one of those umbrella hats ( haven't seen those for years) and I'm sure the asda bags would keep youer feet wondrfull dry....it would have to be the 10p ones though! haha! xxxx
DeleteTake care
Love Sheila xxx
Hi Sheila,
DeleteWhat a bummer. I'd even have to pay for bags to keep my feet dry now. IS IT 10P NOW. GOOD GRIEF!
Stay safe in this awful weather. Hugs

Things ain't great but Francis is home an he trying to build up to the take the test on 14th to see if they think he could pull through the operation. Thanks for asking Tina xxx
DeleteMelody, my fingers are crossed fort Francis, and for you as a family too. XX
DeleteMorning Tina, oh my goodness what an expensive week you have had with all the car problems, but as you say lovely to see your son, and that Claire is OK although still in pain but must be reassured by the doctor that the pain killers are not harming the baby.
ReplyDeleteThe card is beautiful, as always, I think the sentiment should be spread around at the moment to remind everyone that life is precious, all these dreadful bombings and killings is terrible, why can't everyone live in peace and harmony instead of wanting to take over the world. I like what you have done with the flowers too, they are very effective.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hi June
DeleteThank goodness that weeks like that don't happen that often, and they are easily to overcome, regarding the cars.. Hey Ho.
Now we know what we are dealing with with Claire I'm sure she'll cope. Bless her.
Thank you for your lovely comment about my card.
I agree with you 100% about the sentiment, why these brainwashed people have to bring their unwanted beliefs to our country and neighbouring countries is incomprehensible. I'm really scared about where all this is going.

Tina XX
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteYou've had a very unlucky week with cars, they're great when they work but when they don't...
Personally, I'd choose a magic carpet if I could!
Glad Claire feels more reassured even if the problem hasn't gone away. I have a lot of pain in the sacral area and warmth is a real comfort. Soft pillows and cusions so she is not leaning back on a hard surface when she sits might help, as might one of those ring cushons (yes, I know there for "bottom problems" usually) she can position it so she's not sitting directly on the coccyx. You can get good ones for 20- 25 pounds and it'd be a benefit for just after she's had baby too. Sending hugs for her x
My brothers often go home with a bagful of their favourite treats. I sent the youngest back to uni with a bag whenever he's home to visit. Luckily he lives on top of a hill so he's not been flooded in Cumbria but he did get drenched in less than 2 minutes outside Saturday night. I hope no one is badly affected by the weather... will be bad here later so getting it all done online in case I lose my internet!
Finally onto your gorgeous card, I think it's absolutely stunning and gives me a bit of an idea for some cards. Need to write the card list so I know how many to make that'll go in the post... the 'flat' cards. That poinsettia is absolutely gorgeous, sets the card of perfectly.
Must go, got a heat mat on my neck and I'm starting to cook! Take care, have a lovely week and I will give you a heads up when I've put some of my creations on Pinterest (got to pin this beauty first!).
Sending lots of hugs,
T x
Hi Trace
DeleteI know it's just one of those weeks that just bite you on the bum, but it's nothing we can't get over or deal with.
One of Claire's work colleagues mentioned about the rubber ring, so she is looking into getting one.
thank you for your lovely comment about my card, and also for pinning this one too. I look forward to looking at your creations.

Hi Tina. You must have been at the end of your tether no pun intended by the end of the week. But at least Clare is alright if still in a little pain and you have sorted Ben our with his picture frame and an arm full of goodies. I just hope you are having some me time because i think you could do with some. Your card this week is stunning. I love the way you add all the little extras to make the eye look at everything, the way you have used the corners to go around the frame is fantastic and i dont think it needs anymore poinsettias as the one finishes the card off beautifully. Hope you have a better week this week and take care of yourself Tina.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes.
Denise T x
Hi Denise
DeleteBy the end of the week I felt I needed a stiff drink at the trough and a nose bag to be pampered. I'm sure with the new painkillers and rest Claire will manage, fingers crossed. I think Craig went home a happy bunny with all his goodies, and I'm sure I will get some me time soon.
I'm really pleased you liked the card this week, I was uncertain but the comments have been wonderful. Thank you.

Hi Tina. I am so sorry i got your sons name wrong i just dont know where i got Ben from it must be all this rain we are having in Durham it is getting water logged lol. If you are going to have that stiff drink will you have a one for me as i think i need one, the only trouble is i dont think ive had one for about 8 years lol. Just thought i would let you know that i have finally finished my sons wedding invitations. They only took me four and a half months non stop to make. I think i need a little holiday lol.
DeleteTake care of yourself and the rest of the family.
Best Wishes.
Denise T x
Please don't worry Denise, I call him lots of other things too. I did have a drink or 3 and very nice they were too.
DeleteWell done for finishing your son's wedding invites, I don't think they realise how much work & worry goes into making them. I made Claire's 2 yrs ago and all of her favour bird boxes with little chocolate Easter eggs, you really do feel like you need a holiday before the big day. I hope you relax a little more now. Take care Denise

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteYou will never Disappoint my friend, Loving your card and the Poinsettia looks the business, beautiful just beautiful .
We had an expensive week earlier last Month, i needed a New pair of Spectacles £300 +, the car wanted a service and repair job £600 + also our camper van wanted a service to the tune of £265 , then my lovely Sister in law gave us an old Long Case Clock , that had to have attention , costing £500 + , OMGoodness i love her to bits but i do hope she does not want to give us anything else she gets fed up with, to be honest we didn't want to hurt her feelings by refusing it ,as we have more than enough clocks as it is.
Anyway enough of my moaning, i do hope Claire continues to get help and pain relief .
Take Care

Hi Elaine
DeleteThank you, really pleased you liked the card. What a lovely comment.
I now consider that we got let off lightly and had quite a cheap week. I guess it's a bit difficult to say to your sister in law, that's really lovely but how much is it going to cost to get fixed. bless her.
Thank you for your thoughts for Claire, and you're not moaning. I started this. X

Hi sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card for us again. Can't stay for long, and although it's no immediate consolation for dear Claire, but as you know Lou had the exact problem and yes, unfortunately until your little Princess arrives, the pain is here to stay poor lass. I also had it when I was carrying Lou and it's so miserable. Head packs can help ease it, but the best ever remedy is baby lol.
Hoping you have a better week my dear friend xxx
Hi Boss
DeleteThank you Steph, I know you up against it, thinking of you. I remember you saying about Lou and her back pain. I remember when I was carrying Claire and she had a foot poking under my left rib cage and had to lay on the floor to get pain relief. what we go through to have our babies, but I wouldn't change a think.
Will talk soon Steph

Hi Tina, Gosh what a busy and expensive week you have had. I don't know how you managed to find time to make a card, let alone such a beautiful one.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that Claire is still in pain, it does tend to take some of the joy out of being pregnant. I hope that some of the remedies suggested will help her.
Always lovely when our children come home for a visit, and yes they do usually leave a bag full of goodies, I am however lucky that mine live very close, so they usually just come for a meal with my precious grandchildren
Tina your card today is beautiful and I love how you have the corners, also don't think it needed any extra poinsettias
Take care Wendyx
Hi Wendy
DeleteClaire has joked with me, and said you did only want one grandchild didn't you. It's strange and thank goodness your brain forgets the pain when you hold that little bundle.
I love it when I come away from seeing the children with a piece of cake, but we always feel we have to send them home with a big hamper.. Goodness knows what I will send our granddaughter home with, I'm so excited, I can't wait.
Thank you too for your lovely comment about my card.

Hi Clare
DeleteI think maybe I got let off lightly, and so pleased you going to give this card a try. Thank you

Tina XX
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer, Claire being told she would be in pain probably until the end of the pregnancy. I could accept this being the case in the last four weeks or so, but she still has a long way to go. Let's hope the doctor is mistaken. Wonder whether there are back strengthening exercises she can do whilst pregnant, if I were her, I'd find out.
The card is lovely and doesn't need any more embellishments, don't forget, less is more :-)
Hugs, Rose
Hi Rose
DeleteWe are hoping that the doctor is just saying that to so as not to worry Claire, but we have said that the baby could just move and the pain will go. Fingers crossed. The Osteopath has given her gentle things to do and things that Toby could do to help make her more comfortable.
Thank you about my card, I must need to know when to stop!!
Take care Rose, talk soon

Hello Tina!
ReplyDeleteHmmm! Pony and Trap - pony would need to be fed and watered, mucked out , groomed and Vets fees and Farrier ! Plus I'm with Sheila on it being a tad cold and wet! Maybe shelve that idea until Summer!
What are we like! I came on to talk about your lovely card and end up being daft ! Who started this? Lol!
I think the Joy to the World die is my favourite! It is Christmas to me and when making a card you don't need much else. Your poinsettia is beautiful as always. Love the two- tone .
Hope you have a less expensive week! I too used to send my sons back to Uni with goodie bags! Comes with the territory of being a Mum I guess.
Thanks again Tina for a lovely card and some fun!!
Love Myra xx
Hi Myra
DeleteYou have a point, and so does Sheila. Yeh but, Yeh but I want a pony!! Any excuse to get another pet. I'm still finding it hard to get another dog, let alone a pony. Oh well will just have to make do with the newly repaired car and keep working on getting a dog. You come here any time you like and be daft, I love it!
When I got sent the die by CE I wasn't too sure, bit I now agree it is lovely.
don't you think it's a mum thing to send our children home with goodies, also to empty our cupboards out to stock up with new goodies.
Really pleased you liked the card this week, Thank you.
Hi Tina.
ReplyDeleteWhat a georgeous card. I just love the way u do ur flowers they look so amazing.
U sound as tho I've had a hell of a week.
My window wipers packed in the other day luckily I was almost home. I got a hell of a fright as I couldn't see but aye £75 quid later all is working again
Chemo day today just waiting to go get it x
Hi Tracy
DeleteThank you for your lovely comment about my card.
Cars are an expensive commodity, but a necessary one too, so we just have to big up and pay. I think driving without wipers would have scared me when raining, so glad you too far from home.
Tracy, I had no idea that you are going through chemo, sending you hugs and hope you don't feel feel too poorly after your session.

Thank you, I'm really pleased you liked the card, and hopefully that's my last bummer of a week for a while. I will pass on your hugs to Claire Thank you. I've made a good start on the invites, and today will make a start on 70 flowers. See you next week!

Hi Tina
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about cars mine went in last Friday as the heater stopped working. £100 later but it needed to be done especially with winter upon us.
Glad to hear Claire is a little better let's hope her pain eases.
A fab card by the way love the colours and the glitter xxx hugs xxx
Hi Maria
DeleteI agree, The one place you want some heat is when you are driving, couldn't bear driving for hours in a freezing car it's like sitting in an ice box.
I think these pain killers are giving Claire a more manageable relief without frightening her about the baby, and I think that helps her big time. Thank you
Really pleased you like my card too.

Sorry to hear that Claire is likely to have this pain until the baby arrives, but I do hope that it lessens greatly.

Hi Maureen
DeleteReally pleased you like the cad, I was so unsure, as I didn't have time to make anymore flowers so cut out more filigree instead, Thank you.
I spoke to Claire today, although she still has the pain even dulled by the pain killers she seems to be coping with it now. So maybe the Osteopath has helped too.

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeletePhew what an expensive and car unfriendly week you've had. Sorry to hear that Claire is still suffering, hopefully it'll settle down in time.
Must say I've not had had the best of weeks myself either, I'm fed up with having to stand up against my Grandsons school, they just don't know how to deal with an 8 year old with ADHD & Autism :( but never mind we won't give up fighting his corner.
What a lovely card you're showing us this week, loving the words, shame a few thousand other people in the world want to spoil all of our lives.
Fingers crossed you have a better time next week. Will look our for your tutorial.
Hugs ~ Angela ~
hi Angela
DeleteCars are a pain in the butt some times, and it's strange that all the family car problems happened in one week. At the time it seems hideous but it's minor really.
When Claire lived and worked in a school in London she had a boy with ADHD & one day he came into school with a piece of metal that he hit a playground duty person. By the time Claire left that school she had really taught him ways of coping and teaching him ways of coping when he had the uncontrollable feelings. She would love to deal with children with ADHD all the time as she said it's lovely when you see a small change in them, that can be a massive change in family life. Don't give up Angela. She got him extra help, so maybe there is hope for your grandson too X

Thank you Tina, it's good to hear about a happy ending, just a shame that there's not a few more teachers around like Claire xx
