1st of my Christmas Cards

Hi My Friends

I hope you are all well.

How are you all progressing with the Christmas festivities. I am as usual way behind with my cards.

As the children get older it's more difficult to think of pressies and I don't really like giving money as the unwrapping of pressie's is over way too soon, but if that's what they want so be it, they have lots of stocking fillers though. Claire said  "It's all about a lovely meal and spending time with you ". I said how come I come 2nd, and she thought for a moment and said, " It's all about the meal and spending time with you & dad ". Cheeky mare!

This year we are having Phoenix so it is going to be an amazing Christmas. I am going to start putting up the Christmas Decorations next Saturday. I have bought a few new ones, so really looking forward to decorating the house and garden.

I've only just started making my Christmas cards and didn't think they would have taken so long just to make one so I really need to get a move on so lots more time planned in my workroom.

Here are just the 1st two cards. It's the foamiran poinsettias and foiling of the greetings that are taking most of the time. I have another nine cards to make up with the poinsettia's.

Here Goes!

hope you like them, more to come!

Hope to see you again soon.

  1. Morning Tina, hope all is well with you all. Well what a wonderful Christmas you are all going to have with Phoenix there too, there is going to be so much laughter and giggles, memory building.

Now what can I say about the 2 samples, except that they are amazingly gorgeous and who would not love to receive one of these, you didn't say which dies you used for the poinsettia's and was this the Foamiran that you have to heat up ?? they certainly look realistic. Also will let you into a little secret, I have purchased the Gemini Foil press, just waiting for it to be dispatched, did you do the sentiment in the foil?? and are there any tips that you can give on foiling. xx

I have quite a few cards made but many of them are large sizes and the postage costs are mega so have started cutting out some smaller ones, just got to finish them off.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

    1. Hi June

Thank you June we are all well.

Glad you like the cards. The die is Creative Expressions Classic Poinsettia. I used 2 large & 2 medium petals to make the flower. Half of them I did use heat the others I just rolled with damp fingers. Although I have the go press and foil I am really tempted to get the Gemini one too.The sentiment is from Anna Marie. I cut it out using Foundations Card 220gsm, I did place a piece of card onto the hotplate first as the go press & foil plate has ridges then placed the foil colour side down then the cut out word, you need quite a few shims as you don't have the depth of the die. It worked a treat. Hope this helps. Oh! and your secrets safe with me.

hope you get to finish your cards soon.

  3. Morning lovely. If I say you're too crafty for your own good and I've fallen out with you, you'll know how I mean it won't ya lol. Do you ever make a duff un ? I doubt it and don't tell me porkies lol. Had a good few hour's at market yesterday (thanks to Sue) if I'd not found Particraft and Sue - well I wouldn't be as poor, but I wouldn't have such wonderful tools to work with, all I need now is a brilliant tutor to bring the best out of me and I'd choose you if only we were living closer. Sorry I've not kept my promise Tina had a lot going down (or maybe not ) lol let's not go there lol and now I have a big order to crack on with and thanks to yesterday I can collect the dies that I'd got on hold. If your first two cards are anything to go by, I can't wait to see the rest especially the one for gorgeous Pheonix ☺ I know I should get my lazy backside into gear but I didn't have time to ***t yesterday and I'm shattered so I'll make a start tomorrow unless I get a second breath later. Keep doing what your doing we love to see your gorgeous works of beauty xxxxx

    1. Hi Boss

Steph you do make me laugh, and yes I have made plenty of duff un's promise no porkies. Really pleased you had a good day at your Sunday market and able to treat yourself to some new dies. I would love to craft with you Steph but I don't think we'd get much work done we'd be nattering too much. I'd have a rest today after your busy Sunday and crack on tomorrow.

      Be in touch soon Boss

  4. Both of the cards are EXQUISITE, Tina!!!!! And your flowers are gorgeous!!! Could you tell me about the gold frame used on the first card? Is it a die WITH the snowflakes in the corners, or were those added??? It's GORGEOUS!!!!

    1. Hi Donna

It's exactly what Steph has said. Before I addad the top gold frame I placed my sticky pads to the back of the frame the glued the corner die cuts then attached the frame. I hope between us that's helped.

Really pleased you liked the cards Thank you Donna

    2. Donna

I should have said the sticky pads were placed right on the outer edge of the frame enabling the corner die cuts to stick flush to the frame giving you a 3d look. hope that makes sense.

  5. Hi. I'm going to step on tina's toes just in case you need to know the answer sooner than Tina maybe able to find time. It's a festive die from Sue Wilson called - Snowflake corner border and tag. I'll leave the description of how she used it but it's very easy to achieve, if I can achieve it anyone can and in real life it looks absolutely gorgeous it's the corner die that Tina used for this amazing card. Hope it's helped and it's still easy to find on the internet.

  6. You make the most gorgeous cards. I am so delighted when you post one or two of your creations. Then during the times you don't post, I feel deprived. I do understand life has a way of interfering with our hobbies. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Christmas.
