Felt Flower Tutorial

Hi All

I'm sorry I haven't managed to get this tutorial on my blog sooner, but I have had problems with my computer. It just won't play ball at the moment. My second apology is to Lynda, T ( Wheely Bad ) & Tres, also my computer wouldn't let me reply to the last 3 comments left on my blog, being the lovely ladies listed above. So ladies can I just say a big thank you to you for your lovely comments about my card this week and about the wild life. I am hoping it is just something to do with the last blog and not blogs in the future ie this one. As I have said before I like to say thank you as you have all taken time out to visit me and say such lovely things about my cards.

Here goes with the tutorial.

How to make this Felt Flower

Products used:-

Creative Expressions- Felt
Sue Wilson's- Configurations- Dainty Lace Edger
Sue Wilson's- Finishing Touches-Perfect Peony Complete Petals
Cosmic Shimmers- Clears dry glue
Creative Expressions- Dazzler

Cut out 4 times

Cut off the corners and keep the oval shaped waste for the stamens

Glue together in pairs

Turn one set of petals 45degrees and glue together

I cut a very small piece of card and glued the stamens to it and added a dazzler, then glued it in the centre of the flower

Then when it dries, give it a good gentle scrunch

Then pull apart and arrange it to your liking and add a few leaves. Et Voila, That's it Folks. Enjoy!

  2. Hi Tina , well how kind of you to make this tutorial and such a clever use of the dies ! Must try myself to get such a beautiful flower .I still have a lot Of felt so can use that up! I don't know but somehow I have accumulated so many things I could start a shop myself !! I will have to start sorting out anyway as we are to move house soon .Hate the thought of having to part with a lot of materials from my many hobbies.Tina did you get my pictures? because if your computer didn't work you may not have received them? For now Tina good night and looking forward to your card on Tuesday!! Have a nice weekend and big hugs Jane B.

    1. Hi Jane

I'm glad you liked the tutorial. Just one little tip, I found the white felt more delicate to work with but the other colours seem more robust. Good luck on the trying to part with crafting goodies, you are a stronger person than me. I hope your card arrives before you leave.

I did get the pictures thank you, how exotic are those plants, they're stunning. Are you going to take any plants to your new home?

I haven't even thought of what to do for my card for Tuesday, so that's my Sunday taken up.

You have a good weekend too Jane.

    1. Hi Nightowl

What a pain in the old proverbial computers are, they are brilliant when they are working, but when mine decides to have a day off I could throw it out of the window. I finally got to open them. What a stunning garden and very unique, there's some beautiful pieces of crafting going on and the squiggly tree is so unusual, I love it.

  4. Hi Tina

Brilliant use of the die... Another on my list :) need to start doing the lottery! I love chopping into things and seeing what I make! I'm sorry your computer has been misbehaving, must've been really frustrating for you.

Hope you're still enjoying your little visitors. Dawn chorus today is deafening (up early to see Mr W off on 24hrs respite= fishing!) I got my brother and my PA coming to do the bits he usually does. Me? Hoping I don't go back to sleep as I'm planning some crafting today- Hopefully!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend, hugs

    1. Hi

I know what you mean about the lottery, every time a set of dies come out I want them all, but have never had a full set yet, Hey Ho! I always joke with Paul and say, I think I'll try the old profession and stand at the end of our lane, and his reply is don't forget to take some treats for his dog. I think he's joking

I hope Mr W enjoys his fishing time out, and what a lovely brother to come round to help you out while he is away. Did you get to do some crafting T, I hope so, but a good snooze would be good too.

      Take care T

  5. Hi Tina,
Such pretty flowers and thank you so much for the tutorial especially when having had problems with your PC. I love my PC but hate it when there is a glitch as I am not at all techy minded.
Another die to add to my wish list!
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

  7. Hello Tina,
How on earth did you look at this die and see a flower. It's amazing and I keep saying it but I must be more adventurous with my dies. I do tend to use them just as they are - with a few exceptions. Your step by step is great, and I will have a go at some other dies to see what I can come up with - probably a mess!!!!
    Enjoy the bank holiday.

    1. Hi Maureen

When I went through Sue's dies it was a choice between 2 dies, and I just looked at that one and saw a flower and thought I would get more use from that die, the hardest part now is thinking of what else to do with it.

I'm really glad you liked the tutorial, and I'm sure you won't make a mess as you will be using a Sue Wilson die and you can't go wrong with these.

  8. Hi Tina,
Thank you so much! The tutorial is crystal clear! I will put it on your Board in my Pinterest and that way I have a permanent record! Well that's the theory! The flower is gorgeous so will be trying it out - only problem is - don't have the dies - yet!! What have you done, encouraging me to spend money tut tut! Lol!
    Have a lovely weekend!

Really pleased you liked the tutorial. I did say on a previous message on this blog that the white felt is more delicate than the coloured ones and have to be handled gently, but made in paper card or vellum they are a lot more sturdy. Hope you get the die. Sorry to make you think of spending more money.

      Have a lovely long weekend.

Margaret Corgi Owner told me how to find your blog WOW! I'm another one that tends to use dies as they are Such a clever idea I'd sort of dismissed these Configuration dies but then I'm constantly changing my mind! I will enjoy scrolling back and looking at your work
