Good Tuesday morning everyone
Well, what another busy weekend we had. Yes!, moving again. Craig arrived with a very large van early Saturday morning which we filled to the gunnels. We dove to Bournemouth where he has bought his 1st step on the property ladder. It's a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment on a very nice tree lined road and about a 10 minute walk to the beach, how lucky is he. We finished unloading the van and packed nearly everything away, then Craig drove me in the van to curry's to purchase all his white goods, so he's sorted now. One down, one to go.
I would just like to say many congratulations to Steph ( Lancashire ) on the safe arrival of her 1st Grandchild, Lottie Beth. Thank you for sharing the news with me after she was born on Thursday and for the pictures of Lottie Bet, she is sooo beautiful, and she has such a lot of hair too.
Last Wednesday we spent a lovely afternoon with Jane B from my blog. We met her and her husband in a little cafe in Hindhead, drank our respective drinks and then we went to her son's beautiful new home and chatted some more. It was like we had known each other for years. Jane gave me a beautiful gift that she had hand painted herself. I would love to show you but I would like her permission 1st. Jane I hope you & Henk had a safe flight back to Spain, and again thank you for last week.
I only had Sunday to make this card, take photo's and do the products list before sending the information to CE, so there aren't as many flowers as I would have liked. Hey Ho! you get the idea. I also didn't have time to do a tutorial, but I'll do one next week, and hope to see you both again.
Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the 15th TRES, I hope you have a lovely day with your sister. It was lovely to talk to you on Sunday. I also had a lovely chat when Rose rang me Sunday afternoon, Thank you Rose.
Here Goes!
Hope you liked it!

How to make:-
Firstly I made my usual mat & layer on the 2 levels. Then I cut 2 of the striplet trellis dies and glued them together. Before attaching the trellis to the card I put pearls on the circle middles. Before I glued down the trellis I cut a pierced tag die and stamped the sentiment on it, I shaped it into a wave look and glued it under the trellis.I then made 3 roses of various sizes as per last weeks tutorial. I attached them to the trellis with 3D glue. I cut some laurel leaves and cut them in halves and arranged around the roses. I cut some twigs from the pine bough die set, which I have to say I like the look of them the more I use them, and will be using them more in my flower displays in the future as they add a different look along side the leaves. To get the effect of the butterflies and the twigs, I used the foundations sand card and randomly used the edge of the perfect medium block in various directions, then covered with the gold embossing powder, then heat set. I then placed the butterfly die and the twigs and die cut them to see what effect I would end up with. I liked it so went with it, I hope you like it too. It's quite random but it's good to step out of your comfort zone now and again instead of everything being perfect. That's it really, I hope you like it.
PS. Just adding a bit of info, that there is a pearl behind the double rose that the trellis leans on, so you can lift it so you can almost flatten it to post or put in a box. I hope this helps.
Have a lovely week everyone, and take care. Same Time Same place next week! X

Hi June

Hi Tina.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. You've done it again, outstanding. Can I ask please - you know the paper you used, is it the paper that is used for covering mdf shapes ? I've seen it hanging up in the local craft shop in many colourful shades and patterns. Is it that paper that you covered a piece of card with to make your base with ? If so, I need and want lol, you madam will make me bankrupt lol not only do I now have to buy a collection of that paper, I also have to buy the twig die ! Although it's a twig it adds a great touch to floral focal points doesn't it ?
Another question if I may, you know the two striplet dies, after sticking the long sides together they give the impression of bi- folding doors, I've tapped the picture to enlarge it and open it out wider with my fingers like you can in this world of weird and wonderful technology lol and it makes me feel that I can push them back and together just like the bi - folding doors you can buy, it's so clever and can I use your idea please ? I adore this card as I do all card's you make. I'm having a spait of orders which are needed within a few days of the order coming through so it's all a bit hectic considering I have to rack my brain for a design, cut all the elements I need etc and get it photographed for the customers approval, stick it all down and wait for glue to dry, thank goodness for Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue but it means I can't use the pvc glue for pearls or for the centre of my flowers as it needs an over night rest to make sure it's completely dry and not tacky. I'm going on far too much I am sorry !!
I'm so pleased that Craig is settled into his new apartment, we honeymooned in Bournemouth 36 yrs ago and went back for a visit on our 25th anniversary year, it holds such special memories for us.
Thank you for your best wishes for our new tiny grand-daughter, and thank you for putting up with my uncontrollable tear's and unstoppable babbling last Thursday lol I can't wait for your turn to arrive, it's such an undescribable feeling, nothing will ever feel as special as meeting the tiniest, most delicate precious little life snuggled in your own babies arms.
I need to stop now lol.
So I will wish you a good day, and look forward to the answers to my questions regarding this stunning card.
Hugs.
Steph xx
Hi Boss
DeleteThank you Steph. I don't think it is, I think It's a bit too thick. I'll find out what you need and email you. Sorry for making you spend your money Steph, you made me do it!! I have to admit I like the twig die too, it's a bit different. The two striplets were glued together, then glued on the left hand side of the card, but on the other side it leans against a pearl so you can fold it flat to post or put in a box, and of course you can use the idea, it's very flattering.
Bournemouth is a lovely place to live, he's really lucky.
Thank you for sharing that special moment in your life with you Andy Lou & Craig, and Lottie Beth is beautiful.

Tina. Anything chance you can show a photo of the paper consortium packaging please then I'll know what to look for. Wondered if it was the same brand of paper John uses for his projects .

Hello Tina,
ReplyDeleteOh Wow Tina , this is a beautiful card! I have pinned two photos! The yellow flowers are to die for! I know they are peonies but to me they look like gorgeous roses! It's a very versatile shape of flower. I have just ordered them! I wasn't going to but Hochanda had a good offer of both sets along with the Monarch butterfly. I have the butterfly but my friend doesn't so she will get that as part of her Christmas present! Everybody happy!! The trellis idea is beautiful as are your leaves and burtterflies. Love the background paper/ card too.
Overall in Strictly terms it's a 10!! Lol.
Glad your son is settled into his new home. It sounds just right. I do hope he will be very happy there.
Lots of love,
Myra xxx
Hi Myra
DeleteThank you for pinning my cards that is so lovely of you. I keep forgetting to put my pin on my cards, mind you I still haven't mastered it yet, and thank you for your lovely comment, a 10! too.
What a lucky friend you have and for it to be just part of her pressie, I'm sure she will lots of pleasure using her gift.
Craig has not been in his new home a week yet, but I know he's very happy, I think it's because he has become a first time buyer, it's quite an achievement these days.

Hi Tina, Thank you for another great card. Does your brain never stop producing such unusual ideas? Do you ever rest ? Beautiful thoughts-we love them all Mary - Durham xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mary
DeletePaul often say's to me I have a very active brain and I always thank him, and then he always say's shame you can't put it to better use and make our fortune. I think he's joking. I do rest sometimes Mary, just not so much lately though. I'm really pleased you like my cards mary, and for leaving such lovely comments too.

Wendyx
Hi Wendy
DeleteI'm really pleased you like my card again this week, Thank you.
Craig lives about an hour away from us, but there are major road works on a very busy part of the journey for about 5 miles and if you hit that at the wrong time it can up the journey by another 11/2hrs, it's a nightmare, but he's worth it.

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteThis card is a stunner - I just LOVE THE TRELLIS and it really doesn't need any more flowers, what there is is JUST RIGHT! And there might not have been space for the butterflies :-)
Will speak more soon, I promise - have to fly now...
Hugs, Rose
Hi Rose
DeleteThank you Rose, I did wonder if I had skimped on the flowers, but true about the butterflies.
So pleased you had good news too. :-)

WOW! WOW! WOW!
ReplyDeleteOMG Tina, it's amazing, stunning, beautiful, eye catching! How do you do it? The trellis idea is genius. I've done a flat trellis before and loved the look but this is another level. Those rose/ peonies are just beautiful and just like Steph you'll end up bankrupting me as I now need that paper AND the peonies (have a twig with the SW pine bough and the ringlet striplet as it's one of my favourite ever dies). I don't know why your cards surprise me anymore because they are consistently stunning. I can safely say you'll always tell a Tina card in the same way you'll tell a Sue Wilson card. You have a style all of your own that just blows me away. All this when you're so busy!
I'm glad Craig is settled in, sounds like a prime location and not too far away. You'll be next on the Grandmother list too so things will soon be busy again. Time to get the crafting in!
Apologies again for not mailing. I have been asleep most of the last week! Could be a good thing as you've been pretty snowed under!
Anyhoo, Mr W has just gone to dish up so that's me for now. Take care, enjoy the rest of your week and hugs to all of you,
T x
Hi T
Delete3 WOW's & an OMG and copious amounts of lovely words, thank yo soooo much. Thank you also for the compliment about Sue's cards and mine too.
Craig is living in a beautiful part of Bournemouth, but it about an hour away, and if you hit the 5 mile stretch of roadworks it can take more than double that time, and the roadworks are going on until June 2016. Hey Ho!
You mail me when ever you want, I will always answer you. I'm not always a break neck speed. It sounds like you had a tough week, look after yourself, and I hope you enjoyed your meal that Mr W prepared for you.

Hi Tina. You always seem to be on the go, if your not moving someone in your moving them out lol. Nice to hear craig has moved into his own place. Hope its not to far away for you to visit and he will be a great miss from your home. Lovely to hear you had time for yourself and to meet some new friends. Your card is wonderful, so different. The papers are beautiful and i love the way you have used the eternal rings striplet to make the trellis. You must have a great imagination. Must have a try at making the twigs and butterflies as you have and i still need to practice my flower making lol. Take care tina and have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes.
Denise T x
Hi Denise
DeleteThings will slow down a bit now, unless my sister finds a new job and a new home soon. Then when Claire has her baby we will be on the go again, that's one busy job I am looking forward too. Craig is about an hour away, but it's a lovely drive across the new forest, so no hardship there then.
Thank you Denise for leaving another lovely comment, Glad you liked the trellis, it was a bit of a gamble, but it does seem to have gone down well, Thank you. I hope you like the effect of the twigs and the butterflies in real life.

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteWhat an ingenious card you've made today, love the trellis idea and the flowers are a knockout. It sounds like you've had another busy week, hope that Craig is enjoying his new abode :) I'll be looking forward to next weeks tutorial. I followed last weeks and have had reasonable success with my flowers, though they're no way as good as yours, so more practice needed from me. I will email you a picture of my flowers when I get a chance, just haven't had much time this week to take a decent picture.
Hugs Angela (UK) x
Hi Angela (UK)
DeleteGlad you like the trellis, I just said to Denise, it was a bit of a gamble, but I like the look of it the more I look at the card. Thank you Angela.
Yes, it was kind of full on, things are slowing down again now thank goodness, and Craig is enjoying his new home very much!
I look forward to seeing the pictures of your flowers, when you are ready.

All we can ask is they they enjoy it and be happy.Thank you Jane, I will put it on next week after my card, I could put it on at the end of the week, but people know that I post on Tuesday's and might not get to see it, and Thank Paul & Ursula for their wow too X.

Hello Tina,
ReplyDeleteHow beautifully wonderful this card is. I was taken right back to the 1940's and 50's when, on a Sunday afternoon, I used to sit in my dad's rose arbour in the back garden and listen to the brass band playing in the park which was near to us. What happy memories you have brought to my mind. Thank you.
Now to get onto the card proper. What a genius use of this die, and I agree with Rose (what a suitable name!) that the number of flowers is perfect. It leaves room for the butterflies!!!! I think this card is perfect in every way.
You've been working hard with Craig, and I wish him every happiness in his new home. I'm also pleased that you had time to meet your friends and enjoyed yourselves, and I can feel your excitement for the scan of your grandchild. I hope it's a boy or girl lol. Oh, a new grandchild is lovely, and I hope your daughter keeps well and is blooming.
Maureen xx
Hi Maureen
DeleteIsn't it so strange what evokes lovely memories, I'm taken aback that my card has done this, Thank you. Also thank you for the lovely comment it's really lovely.
I will pass on your wishes to Craig. Claire & Craig are always surprised at all the wonderful thoughts and best wishes that are sent to them.
I will let you know on my blog next Tuesday, and you're right it will be a boy or a girl. One thing I can say is I have NEVER seen Claire so happy, She looks so beautiful.

Hi Tina. WOW !!! As always another beautiful card !! What a fab idea using the Eternal Rings Striplet Die as Trellis on your card. I would never have thought of doing that. I love how you have made it look 3D too !! Very clever. The background papers you have used are lovely. The absolute best and most impressive part of your card are those amazing, gorgeous Roses Tina !!! Made in such a beautiful striking yellow too !! You are definitely right about those branch/twig dies, they really make those Roses look even more realistic. I love the sentiment and butterflies. Just beautiful. I love that the Trellis can go flat for posting to. Another clever idea of yours Tina. Like others have said, I to think there are enough flowers on your card. Just the right amount I think, personally. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful card this week Tina. You have certainly given me some lovely ideas.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased all went well with your son Craig moving to his new home. My cousin lives in Bournemouth and he really loves it there. I hope all is going well for Claire to. Take care. Sending you and your family lots of love Tina from Tres x x x
Hi Tres
DeleteLovely to hear from you, really pleased you like this weeks card, and for leaving such a lovely comment. Bournemouth is a lovely place, it was once known as a retirement place, but the young ones seem to be enjoying the Bournemouth life style. There is always something going on on the beach in the summer and there is a firework display every Friday throughout the summer. Your cousin is a lucky person too. Glad you had a good birthday!!
