OMG ladies, It's December already. This time last year I had most of my presents bought, but this Christmas seems to have crept up very quickly this year. I think its because there has been so much going on, with Claire, Craig moving twice and also my sister moving over here. I feel exhausted just remembering all of it. I was going to say hopefully next year will be less manic, but Claire will be having our 1st grandchild, so I'm thinking Maybe NOT!! Bring it on I can't wait.
Claire went down to Bournemouth on Sunday to see Craig's new apartment, and she called in to see us on her way home. I only saw her last week, but when I saw her again on Sunday her bump had grown so much, so I took another photo for the mum & baby book I'm making. She is blooming beautifully.
Right, on to the card this week. I think Christmas cards have finished now, but you never know. It was nice to go back to my butterflies,I have missed them. I know there are a few ladies on my blog that love butterflies as much as I do, so hope you like them. Oh, and I have to say sorry that it is Chrysanthemum's again but I couldn't just put them aside so I added some sparkle and used them on this week's card.
Here Goes!
Products Used:-
Creative Expressions- Foundations Card- Coconut White
Creative Expressions- Dazzlers
Creative Expressions- Pearls
Spellbinders- Delicate Asters
Spellbinders- Les Papillions Two
Sue Wilson- Noble dies- Double Pierced Squares
Sue Wilson- Frames & Tags- Alexandra
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Delicate Fronds
Sue Wilson- Embossing Folder- Rambling Rose
http://drakesfieldcards.blogspot.co.uk
How to make:-
First I made my 1st mat & layer, but kept it really plain. The next smaller layer I used the Sue Wilson Rambling Rose embossing folder. and used sticky pads on the back for dimension. I then cut all the dies from the Alexandra die set but cut 2 of the larger fancy cuts and placed one horizontal and one vertical. I cut and glittered the 2nd smallest die and added pearls then the sentiment was made with the central die, I stamped it and and added some glue and rock candy for sparkle. I layered each die cut with sticky pads, but the centre was stuck down into all the other dimensions, I hope this makes sense. I cut out the petals from the Aster die to make some Chrysanthemum flowers ( last weeks tutorial ), added glitter to the tips and arranged on the card along with some leaves and the fronds die. Finally I added some butterflies, double layered with white & silver card.
Hope you like it. Same time same place next week. Any ideas for a tutorial?

Hi love. Our Tina is back and so are her signature cards full of sparkle and butterflies. I see a grin like a Cheshire cat on that pretty face. How I so agree with Elaine, your photography really show's the beauty, but I bet 'in real life' this is truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Denise cuz that is exactly what I'm hearing from our daughter (new first time mummy) still in her maternity trouser's etc. As hubby likes to say "payback" lol it's also his answer to their lack of sleep - "payback" good job his daughter know's him well lol.
Apart from all the wonderful memories that will be made next year for you all, I really hope the things in life that have given you an unsettled 2015 really start to sort themselves out for you Tina. Most of all, I hope you continue to inspire us with your beautiful work.
Sending lots of hugs.

DeleteThank you for saying I'm back. Although I absolutely love Christmas I've really missed my butterflies. Are you referring to me when you see a smile on a pretty face, how many times have I told you I have a face for radio, but if it's me you are talking about bless you and you really need a trip to Spec Savers. ( only joking boss )!
I can see Claire staying in her maternity trousers for a while too, and really looking forward to those special memories.
I'll be in touch soon, and thank you for your lovely comment on CE's blog Steph X

Hi Tina
DeleteThis is my first post on your blog I really enjoy reading your musings. The card is a stunner and the lighting in the photo is beautiful. We moved house a couple of months ago and all my crafty stash is packed in boxes in the garage, I probably won't have my craft room ready until the spring, we have so much decorating to do. I really miss losing myself in my card making but following the blogs keeps me sane,

Hello my friend,
ReplyDeleteI am so late this week as I went to Margaret and George's last Wednesday and the we had a long weekend in Belgium and then back to their house and then home last night...so had a great time meeting up with lovely friends that Clive and I met over the years.
Then to come back and see your exquisite creation just finished (almost) this week perfectly....oh I do love your 'mums' Tina they are so very pretty and lifelike.
I'm so pleased Claire is blooming from one week to the next and once Christmas is over the time will fly and you'll soon be welcoming your beautiful new granddaughter and Claire her new addition to the family. How wonderful it will be and it cheers me no end to think of such happy times ahead for you all.
I haven't done a thing for Christmas just get Nikki sorted with presents which is so important to me...hopefully next year will feel alot easier for me.....but I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Claire. Take care, speak to you soon.
Love and hugs Sheila xxxx

Not wishing life away, but I can't wait for March 1st or there about's to hug my little granddaughter and my daughter for giving me a much awaited baby in the family.

Hello Tina!
ReplyDeleteI know , I know - it's very nearly Saturday! Where have I been? If you find out - let me know! It's Christmas and it's manic! Why are we surprised by this every year! It's been a busy week but not too busy to visit one of my favourite blogs! I'm never disappointed ! Your card is beautiful! No apologies needed about the Chrysanthemums - they are First in Show!!
Thank you Tina - I'm doing this while having a late coffee and decorating a tree! My third so far this week!
So pleased Claire is doing so well.
Thank you! , lots of love Myra xx
Hello Myra
DeleteYou win Myra, give us a clue, don't where else to look!
Bless you Myra, what a lovely thing to day about my blog and my card. Thank you. Goodness! is the 3 trees in you home or are you helping elsewhere, if you're a star I find it hard work just decorating my own home. By the time you get this message I hope you enjoyed that coffee and the tree is twinkling. What a lovely time of year when anything goes!.
thank you for thinking of Claire too X
Big Hugs
Tina XX
I meant to say are the 3 tree's in your home, and also what a a lovely thing to say not day. Duh!!
DeleteI've done two trees in Church earlier today and one so far at home! Last one - main one at home tomorrow. Couldn't face it tonight! I need to retire from tree decorating! I love Christmas though!! I won't retire from the ones at home! Maybe someone younger could do the others next year? I won't hold my breath though! Xxx
DeleteI would imagine it would be hard to give up decorating the church tree. I'm hoping to get my tree up on Sunday, if not Monday the latest, plus the garland over the fire place, the garlands in the hall and one in the kitchen .and Paul said last evening can you decorate the summerhouse too. He's fitted a log burner in there and is using it as his man cave at the moment, so I said decorate it yourself! goodness knows what that will look like. Good night Myra, I'm off to bed now as the cat's are walking over the keyboard wanting more attention..X
DeleteHi Tina. WOW !!! Another gorgeous card !!! White on white, just gorgeous !!! (Obviously apart from that lovely silver matting and layering !!) I love the Rambling Blossoms Background Embossing Folder. I have this one and use it loads. I think it s a really pretty background but not to "busy". The Alexandra dies look lovely on your card. I do love the butterflies you have used to. As always Tina, your Aster / chrysanthemum flowers are amazing !!! Soooo beautiful !!! I really have to say that I think your photographs are fantastic. Thank you Tina for such a gorgeous card this week.
ReplyDeleteWe are so pleased to hear Claire is doing fine. You sound as though you are really struggling to contain your excitement about your first grandchild !!! I can't say I blame you either !!! I think you are right Tina, Christmas has crept up on us way to fast. We are well behind and totally unorganised as usual !!! Sending lots of love to you Tina from Teresa and Steve x x x
OMGosh!!! I am so in awe of your talents! This card is beyond FABULOUS!!! It is so beautiful down to the smallest detail. Every single part of the flowers are perfect. I am so looking forward to learning from you and I'm very thankful to have found your blog!
