FRIEND

Good Tuesday Morning everyone

I hope you have all survived this horrendous weather. Although it seemed relentless down here in Wiltshire, those poor people in Cockermouth and further up north are having such a tough time. I was up at 4.30am on Sunday morning and I watched the news about the flooding and a lady rang in saying that she couldn't get into her ground floor home as the water was up to the window and her daughter's 2 cats were in the home and she didn't know if they were OK. It's so sad. I haven't stopped thinking about her and wish the BBC had followed that story up. I hope our government help all the people affected yet again  after failed new flood defenses. We as a country give to lots to charities, but I think sometimes we need to think of the people in our own country 1st. ( Sorry about that rant ).

We did have some sunshine today, hence the photo's of the New Forest animals after my card. As the weather is meant to turn to rain and wind again, I thought I would go to the wholesalers and a drive home through the forest. I remembered to take my camera & phone this time.

Take care everyone, hope to see you next week, but understand as we are all so busy this time of year. Enjoy putting your decorations up and all the Christmas shopping!

Sadly didn't see the dinky donkey's

I wish I has taken a video of the horse on the ground, she was having a whale of a time. There's something quite lovely watching an animal as large as this acting like a little puppy. Then she got up and ran about like a lunatic for quite a while, just lovely!!

Who said girls can't have beards and still look beautiful.

This horse was in her field watching the horse in the above picture rolling about. I wonder what she was thinking?

Stay Safe everyone

Big Hugs

  1. Hi Tina. Where to start first. I agree with you about this country giving to charity. We are very good at giving to everyone but i think its about time we thought about our own country for a change as no one seems to help us when we have a crisis. I live in County Durham and we have had some awful weather but then you see them poor people in the Lake District and Carslile and your heart just brakes at the thought of what they are going through especially at this time of year. Sorry for the rant but it just makes me so mad when they just get on about the cut backs. Your pictures are fantastic and i am so pleased that your remembered your phone and camera. I agree with you and do wonder what amimals think about when you see them stareing at other animals having fun. Looks like you live in a beautiful part of the country. Your card this we is gorgeous, loving the colours. Like the way you have made the pierced flag makes such a statement with the mum on top which looks beautiful with the dazzler on to finish it off. The new ornate octagon striplet is lovely and on my wish list for christmas along with a few others. Fingers crossed that my husband has been listening to my subtle hints lol and you coudnt finish your card without that gorgeous little butterfly. Hope Clare is still blooming and feeling well along with the rest of your family. Take care Tina have a lovely week and hope you are all ready for christmas.
    Best Wishes.

    1. Hi Denise

It's not that I object to our country helping vulnerable people in other countries. I just feel for all the people going through a natural disaster on home territory and need help too.

Claire is still in pain, but is coping very well bless her. We talk most nights and I can tell in her voice if she is in pain, but touch wood we have had some really cheerful chats. Or she's just a good actress.

Glad you like the pictures of our roaming New Forest animals, I hope to find those dinky donkeys again.

Thank you for your lovely comment about my card, glad you liked it, and I hope your husband has been listening too.

I have put up the garland over the fire place, the hall and in the kitchen just the tree to go now. You have a lovely week too Denise.

The younger generation has a hard act to heritage. And unless something is done soon, we have even worse disasters to come.

  8. Tina another WOW oh WOW card from you today. Tina you are so right, we give to other countries but we need to start looking after our own. These poor folk that have been flooded don't have a home and have lost so much. My heart goes out to them! There are ones who have no where to go which is worse. Also those whose jobs have gone to due to the floods.
Your photos of the animals are wonderful, they need protecting. Hazel X

  9. Hello Tina,
Another gorgeous, stunning card today. It is so beautiful.
I hope that Claire is feeling much better, and that her back pains have subsided.
Now, where to start about the poor folks who have been flooded out, some for the second or third time. It's so sad and I hope that they get help straight away, without any aggravation. I agree totally with you that our Government should look to people in their own country, without running to give money overseas. That is not to say that I am against them helping the needy, but giving money to countries who are sending rockets into space, or have corrupt governments is shocking.
Lastly, I love your photographs and it's nice to know that if I let my beard grow - I could look as good as the lady in the last photo!!!!

Glad you liked my card this week too.

I agree, people that need help what ever country, that have lost their belongings, their homes and security need help. I think that maybe people in our country are calling out for a little bit of that help too.I really hope they get it.

I'm with you with the beard, although I don't think I could wear mine quite like that, maybe a side parting would look cool?. Maybe!

Another stunning card today. Its beautiful. Im sat watching the floods in Cumbria which is simply heart breaking. I agree that we should be helping those in outer own country first before we give the money we don't have away. We have to borrow this money to send overseas, while not helping those at home. Rant over and soapbox out away. Meant to say I love the horses in the new forest. We see them often when we go down.

  12. Hi Tina

Just beautiful, your cards are also so ornate and just so darn stunning! I don't know how you do it!
The photos of the animals are amazing, and as a lady with a beard I say "hell yeah!" (Joys of PCOS lol). Would you mind if I saved some of the pictures to draw from? I love animals and drawing them is a challenge. If I achieve anything half decent from them I shall email it to you. You live in a beautiful place and to see so many animals must be wonderful. Hope your family is well. How is Claire getting on? I hope her back is not causing too much trouble.

I agree with every word you said, cuts in the name of austerity then giving money to shady dictatorships and tax breaks to millionaires. Not fair at all. I was up and saw the same report. As you know, my little brother is at Uni in Cumbria and lives just over the border in Lancaster, I couldn't sleep, knowing he was up there. I texted him Friday night and told him to take care, he joked about the cold and wet. We heard nothing from him for nearly 3 days. Worried wasn't the word! I saw all these places he talked about under feet of water, all those people and small businesses just wrecked a few weeks before Christmas, absolutely heartbreaking. For the government not to declare a state of emergency really peed me off. When it flooded near London they were tripping over themselves, up north it was left to the community to sort out. Disgusting in my view.

Hope Lancashire Steph is ok, I don't know where she is in the County but the weather has been dreadful all over the north west. If you're in contact or indeed, if you read this Steph, I'm thinking of you x

Anyway, baby bro is ok, he had to leave his digs. His room is top floor but they had no power, heat or working facilities. He had to bunk at a friends, but where he is I don't know. I will get details when I talk to him tomorrow. Not sure if he'll come home early... depends on whether the university was affected. But it might be a case of if he can get home as the train lines were affected, I don't know if they're working again yet. Surs we'll find out in due course.

Anyways, back to the here and now. I have barely done a thing for Christmas and my one chance to have someone take me into town has been taken by a big band of rain heading this way just in time for late shopping. So it's a mad dash online and Mr W taking me to the Supermarket tomorrow. As for cards, not even started. Have put out 2 piles, one of a kit (doggys!) And one of my dies and stamps. Only making for family as things have been "challenging" of late. I will start in January next year. A little bit of Christmas cheer every week. I think it'll be a good thing! Have made some basic but good quality jewellery for gifts. I will post these on Pinterest soon (where this card is going!)

Billy wants to go out and I'm just about ready for my bed. I shall leave you now with lots of hugs and smiles and Billy sends you wags and woofs. Have a lovely week Tina,

I'm with you girl on the beard, Hell yeah!

I would love you to use my pictures to draw and can't wait to see your drawings, I really really look forward to seeing them.

I really didn't mean to start anything about the devastation happening in Cumbria, but I have to say I hope they get all the help they need to get back into their homes again. Oh T I'm so pleased your brother is OK and staying with friends. I hope Uni closes early and you get some peace of mind having him back home.

I'm going to speak or at least text tomorrow with Steph. The fact that she answered my text she is Ok, but I will send her your thoughts.

I'm like you on the Christmas front. They won't tell me what they want and I'm worried about buying them things for their homes, as you get that OH how lovely just what I always wanted, but the look on their faces are saying I hope she kept the receipt. Hope you get to do your mad dash shopping in rain or sunshine. I think your approach to next years Christmas card making is a good idea, might give that a go myself. Mmmmmmm Christmas every month, love it!.

Sending you hugs & Billy you're a star, thank you for your woofs & wags X

  13. Hi Tina,
lovely card, the striplets are beautiful. Problem is that they all are, so that is why I've just given quite a few of Spellbinders dies to our Cat Protection charity shop. I can see that exercise being repeated next year if not before :-) .
Seeing the animals out in the proper countryside (not fields) is such an amazing sight - it is absolutely beautiful and how it should be.

Thank you so much, that's very kind of you.

I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I read on Sue's blog a couple of day's ago that you are having to start chemo soon.I just wanted you to know that I will be thinking of you and will send you gentle & poitive hugs every day. Claire's chief bridesmaid ( Anthea ) had chemo a year and a half ago, and she had the all clear around this time last year. It was her positive attitude that amazed us all. Even when she was tired she would call us and make us laugh, she's a real star.

I watched the news Sunday morning regarding the flooding in Keswick, somewhere we love to go yearly. What a fantastic community spirit going on up there. Lots of people would have given up, but most of the shops were open 3 day's later with smiles on their faces too.

I saw Claire on Saturday, to see her beautiful Christmas tree, and the little munchkin was having a keep fit session Claire's tummy was moving all the time. Bless her!X
