ONE FOR THE KIDS- Fridge Magnets

Good Tuesday morning to all who visit, who leave a message or just decide to pass on through. You are all more than welcome.

This weeks Creative Expression make is Fridge Magnets. I thought it was about time I took these stamps in a different direction and did something so different for me. So here goes!. Please feel free to leave a comment as it makes it fun to read.

I started by stamping "Pickle & Alfie" and cut them out. I coloured them in with Pro- markers. For Alfie, I drew a bone and cut it out, cut a slit around his mouth and glued the bone in place. I found a flower from my stash box and added some leaves from Sue Wilson's classic rose die. I drew a dog bowl cut it out and glued it next to Alfie.

As for Pickle, I gave the same treatment except, not having any glossy accents in my repertoire yet, ( but that is in hand ) I gave Pickles a Paddicure and used some pink nail varnish to enhance her pads and also in her ears.I then made Pickles a swing from Bakers twine, made a couple of bows also from the twine and attached to the tags with cosmic shimmer glue. She swings free from the above magnet.

both of these cuties were either mounted or are hanging from a spellbinder tag die, and a sticky back magnetic sheet was also cut in the same shape. The separate sentiment magnet was stamped from the Paws-Itively Great stamp set, and cut with a Sue Wilson's die set and also cut a piece of sticky back magnetic sheet in the same die and adhered them together.

Products used:-

Creative Expression- White foundation card
Spellbinders- Tags die ? TBA
Butterfly- from my stash
Flower from my stash
Pro-markers
Sue Wilson- Scandinavian collection- Copenhagen
Sue wilson- Classic rose die- for leaves
Creative Expressions - Pickles, Alfie & Paws-Itively Great stamps

Again something so different from me, please feel free to leave a comment if you like them, or even if you don't. Please don't be too harsh. I just thought it was a bit of fun to do with he munchkins of the family.

See you soon, Take care whatever you are doing this week.

Kind regards all :-)

  1. Tina, these are fantastic. You really have looked at the stamps in another way. What great gifts, especially since they can be personalised.

  2. Hi Tina,
What an inspired idea! These are so cute and would make lovely little gifts. My little brain is already buzzing with ideas to make similar with children as it's hard to keep coming up with new ideas! These are gorgeous.
    Thank you!
    Hope you are well,

    1. Hi Myra

I was so scared of this week, as I thought it would be too childish for Sue's Ladies, but I'm really chuffed I have had this amount of comments. Would love to see some magnets that you come up with.

    1. Hi Sam

Welcome to my blog, lovely to hear from you. Glad you like my magnets this week. I have never been much of a stamper but my goodness I'm getting into the swing of it now, just as well as my next months worth of stamps were delivered by my postie today. Looking at them I can't visualize a magnet, but you never know. Watch this space. I put a CEDT card up every Tuesday and really try to put one of my cards up in between. I hope you return Sam

  6. Hi Mary

Thank you for saying that Margaret, I must admit I was a bit worried because my make for Creative Expressions wasn't a card, but CE DT said they liked them too

  7. Hi Tina

What a brilliant idea! I'm sure I'm not the only one who makes gifts for people but soon my repertoire of crochet hats, beaded necklaces and painted boxes is going to run short of recipients! I was going to get the shrink plastic out to draw and stamp for key rings but I think your fridge magnet idea is a winner, I'm not a crafty purist at all so love seeing different ideas for the pile of stash in my back room!

    1. Hi T
Thank you for your lovely comment. You seem to do a lot of art projects, one of them I love to do, that's to crochet and find it really therapeutic, but I'm blessed if I know how to make a perfect square could you help. My mum taught me years and years ago, but it goes out of shape as I don't get the square right at the beginning. I hope you don't mind me asking, but I would really love to know how to get it right.

      Big Hugs

  8. Good morning Tina flower,
Were the fridge magnets intentional or were they a happy mistake that you discovered one day like me when i turned the die the wrong way and now out of my expensive magnetic shim i have holes where there used to be none. What ever way they make lovely decorations to liven up any dull metal surface like the fridge, cooker, microwave, dishwasher or bin. My friend Di has a cat like this wee creator and she is normally up to things that she shouldn't be and then has that look to say "it wasn't me", although since they don't have a dog, it can't be blamed. Back to your magnets though, the fact that the dies can cut out the magnet you could make up some really lovely Sue photo frames just cutting out the picture in one of the basic shapes from SB and then cut out of lovely paper or card with one of Sue's dies and cut the same die to make the magnetic back. It would decorate up that boring expanse of bare metal and let you see your pictures as well.
PS, after years of trying to learn to crochet and giving up as a bad job, i learned from YouTube and Mikey Sellick from the Crochet Crowd who runs 24 lessons right from the very beginning and they are free if you need to see someone doing it.
    Love and crafty hugs

    1. This time it was intentional, other times the air has been blue. I like the idea regarding the picture frames Thanks Norah for the info about crocheting after I finish my newsletter worksheet for CE, it's my first one and not really sure how to do it but Hey Ho you learn something new everyday I've made my card taken loads of pictures, I just have to do the how to make it in between each picture. Later today fingers crossed I'll go and learn how to crochet a square,

Hope you are OK and are all coping with this cold weather.

      Take care, talk soon

  11. Still on catch up! This is so lovely I really do like the saying, the only problem in our house is which dog do I blame! I have shown this to Ben and he says 'Wow this is super I do like this a lot, but how does your friend know that Amy chases cats, she is clever!' So you really have hit the jackpot with one child and I have to agree with him, you are so clever turning these stamps into such a wonderful card.
    With love and hugs
