Good Tuesday Morning everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend, it's been a bit/ lot wet & windy here, I hope you all had a good one if you did manage to get some sunshine.
Today ( Monday morning ) I had to take the cats for their booster jabs, I didn't take Summer as at 19 you wouldn't want to be shoved in a cage and driven miles to the vet, so I fed Summer with some fish while I bundled the other 3 in the car. It was such heavy rain and I took each one out to the car under an umbrella, then when I reached the vets I then had to take each one in one at a time in their baskets under the umbrella, and then when they had been given their jabs I had to do the same thing, one at a time to the car for the journey home and then back indoors. The cats were as dry as a bone and I looked an absolute Wreck, what we do for our pets.
Last week it was mentioned that I should buy a lottery ticket as luck comes in 3's. I had my contract extended for 6 months with Creative Expressions, and the most positive outcome from my results from the hospital, but the 3rd one has blown us away, our daughter Claire is going to have our first grandchild. We have hit the jackpot!! Loads of tears & champers ( not Claire ) was had by all. We did know a few weeks back, but Claire wanted to wait for her 1st scan. I can't put into words just how happy I am. Maybe I should still buy a lottery ticket anyway, as I think this little bundle is going to cost us a small fortune. What a lucky, lucky lady? I am.
I promise it will not be baby talk from now until March.. but, Did I tell you that Claire sent me a picture of the scan and you can see the baby perfectly, and it's only 2 inches long the size of a brussel sprout apparently .. OK that's it! promise.
I know I said I was going out on a blaze of colour, but couldn't ditch the White. So here is a White, Pink & Black card with lots of sparkle. Just had to end Christmas with a flutterby.
I have had a very merry Christmas card making, and wish you all have a fantastic Christmas when it comes around for real, and hope that the lovely products I have been sent from CE, have given you a few ideas. Hope you like this one too!!

ReplyDeleteTake care and have a lovely day.
Best Wishes.

Hi Denise
DeleteThank you, I do feel like the luckiest lady.
I've missed using butterflies so I had to put one on my last Christmas card. The middle of the card is the same pink card I used in the matt & layering, Ive just gone back into CE products site and it's called Baby Pink, how apt for my news, and Thank you for my lovely comment too.

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteI usually do the card first but not today...
CONGRATULATIONS CLAIRE, TINA AND ALL THE FAMILY xxxx Granny Tina... how does that sound? This is just fantastic news for you all and I admit to giving a *cheer when I read your news. Its almost 4am, can't sleep so thought I'd read on the tablet and the notification popped up. I decided I would read it and reply later today but now I'm all excited on your behalf :-) best get your knitting needles and crochet hooks ready for the grandmothers obligatory new baby knitathon and if you're stuck for baby patterns give me a shout ;-)
*only the dog with me, he looked up, unimpressed I'd disturbed him. Mr W wouldn't have noticed even if he was in here. Sleeps like a log!
Anyway... onto your stunning card. Wow, you've done it again! Gorgeous, in colours I can safely say I have never put on a Christmas card together but O.M.G... Stunning. I WILL be doing vellum poinsettias this year, no question and will slip a butterfly or two on someone's card somewhere!
Just started tiddling it down, rattling on the tiles so I'm going to try find my way to the land of nod before I have to get up... soon (don't want to think about the time!) A day of battling with people who couldn't organise a 'drinking session' in a brewery... wish me luck!
Big hugs to all your family xxx
T x
Hi T & bed buddy Billy
DeleteGranny Tina sounds just perfect, and thank you for the cheer, I burst into tears hugged Claire and kept saying thank you. I woke up this morning at 3.30am ish in my workroom with knitting in hand. I was half way up the back of a 2nd size cardigan, but unfortunately I dropped a few stitches. I never learned how to pick them up again, so I unpicked it all. I wouldn't mind a 1st sized pattern (Easy) if you would share, that would be lovely.
Thank you for my lovely comment too T, and I love the polite way you describe the non organising skills. I know one very similar, but Grandma's don't use bad language any more, Right!!
Hope you got some sleep with the noise of the rain, when is summer going to arrive?. It's absolutely throwing down here and really quite windy too. Not even the rain can dampen my spirit now, I keep a hand over my glass. ( not really ).
Big Hugs T

Morning Tina, oh what fantastic news, a grandchild on the way, I remember when I had mine, it is such an awesome experience, one you will never forget, and everyone of them is so special. Now as to the card today, it is a real beauty, I am so pleased about your contract extension and the fact that we can all see such beautiful creations, I am definitely going to have a go at this one, I know the 'let it snow; one you did about a month ago (which you gave me permission to use in our craft group) went down a real storm and they want me, so thinking caps on.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Tuesday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxxx
Hi June
DeleteThank you June, I can't believe I'm going to be a Grandma I'm looking forward to the experience so much.
I'm really very flattered that your craft group used the idea of that card, that's really lovely, and thank you for leaving me a lovely comment June.

Hi Sam
DeleteDon't you just hate that, when you take time to write a message and it just disappears.
I think a furry family is equally as lovely, unlike children they don't ask for much, just food walkies and cuddles, lots and lots of cuddles, sounds good to me.
Thank you for a lovely comment, but for saying I have a lovely blog. Bess you Sam X

Hi Tina, brilliant news about grand baby, I am lucky enough to have 4 granddaughters now age 6 months to 12 years. I also have cats 8 of them I use to be a Persian breeder before I got cancer an while having treatment I ended up keeping a litter because didn't get round to registering them I had 12 at one point but over the last few years some have passed on, I don't take the older ones to get boosts anymore an they are indoor cats anyway. Now on to the card it's amazing I love everything about it your poinsettias look fantastic, the background looks lovely to. Take Care Melody xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Melody
DeleteIsn't it wonderful news, thank you, I can't wait to get to number 4. I won't push my luck yet.
I feel so bad for you having to deal with that awful cancer, and I think you're wonderful to keep all that litter. I take my hat off to you. I don't think I could give any kittens away, but just think how much pleasure you have bought to so many people. Paul has a work colleague that will only buy persians and they are stunning cats. All my cats are indoor cats ever since I lost my sisters cat ( Nala ) on the lane by a mad driver. When my older sister passed away and her children didn't want the cat so I said I would take her. She only had one eye, as she caught it on a nail while jumping a fence and my sister had to make the decision to have it taken out, we only had her for ten months when she was knocked over. She had a beautiful temperament, and if you called her she would run to you and jump up like a dog, but she was a free spirit and liked to spend her days roaming the fields. It's so sad when you lose furry family members. I thought 5 at one time was a lot and I think you are wonderful having had twelve. I have mine jabbed in case they need to go into a cattery, when we take the caravan away.
Wow I did go on a bit, but I am a big animal lover. Thank you Melody for your lovely comment about my card too.
You take care

Good morning Tina, Congratulations on the fantastic news of becoming a grandmother!! Hope all goes well for Claire and she can really enjoy her pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteI have to find a word to describe today's card!! Exquisite, superb, amazingly beautiful, more I can't say Tina it's stunning! The design is great ,the chosen colours, the flowers are so delicate and of course the butterfly! What a way to close your Christmas session.
Wouldn't mind this beauty to be my Christmas card .
I'm sorry you had such a hassle with your cats ,can just picture the scene you soaking wet and they are carried in and out the vet under an umbrella! ha ha.
Looking forward to next week again Tina. Take care Big hug, Jane B.
Hi Jane
DeleteFantastic news isn't it. Claire will be wrapped in cotton wool from now on, not that she wasn't before but it will be a bit thicker now.
Such lovely words to describe this weeks card, and I had a really hard time trying to think of a design this week, I think it needed the butterfly though.
Regarding the puss cats, I must have look like a Benny Hill sketch as everything was done in fast mode. It only needed the music to accompany the antics.
Talk soon about Sept/Oct

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteand CONGRATULATIONS - always good to get the first scan over and done with. It must be fantastic to see the little bundle of joy - you're right, it's gonna cost but it's a cost we gladly take upon us, as we do with our pets.
Your card is gorgeous, I was wondering when the butterfly would appear :-)
Have a very good week, I suppose come Thursday we'll be sitting in front of the telly watching what the new craft channel will bring us.
Hugs, Rose
Hi Rose
DeleteTHANK YOU ROSE, It was wonderful to see the image, soooo cute. I agree totally whether it's children or the furry family they cost a lot but they're worth it.
Had to have a butterfly, and yes I've cancelled everything for Thursday, even next weeks card I'll do that on Friday and the weekend. One had to get ones priorities right.

Congratulations on your news - I remember how excited I was when I got it! And yes, a lottery win would be helpful because you're going to love shopping for your new wee one. Your card is absolutely beautiful, as they always are. I'm relatively new to crafting and I'm so glad I found your blog as you give me so much inspiration. I just hope I will eventually create something as lovely as yours.

ReplyDeleteOh what wonderful news to start the day off, so much better than any lottery win! Many congratulations on the news that you are going to become a grandmother and even more congratulations to Clair and her hubby....how excited you must all feel at the forthcoming event and feel free to do 'baby talk' as much as you want.....just beautiful news.
Oh dear me I do it every Tuesday....I think to myself 'Tina you'll never top this one'...but then you go ahead and do it! I love the colours you have used Tina they go together wonderfully. I love it. You just prove to us how perfectly you can use colour just as beautifully as you use all white...although last weeks card will always be that bit more special to me.
Congratulations on your wonderful news once more Tina.

Hi Tina. What fantastic news, congratulations to you and your family that is growing, even if the newest mber is only the size of a brussel sprout at the moment. One piece of advice, get a good supply of tissues as you will be needing them, for happy tears I must add : ) Every scan etc. will cause you to well up if you are anything like me when our 3 grandchildren were on the way. Don't forget that if you want to talk babies it is your blog so go ahead, we can do babies and cards too. You should buy that lottery ticket, you will need the extra money : )
ReplyDeleteYour card today is gorgeous, I wouldn' t have thought of using this colour combo but it is wonderful.
Is there any chance of seeing you demoing for C E on the new craft channel? That would be great, I would love to see you making your beautiful cards.
Thank you for sharing. Take care x
Hi Mrs B
DeleteThank you Mrs B, it is fantastic news, I love Brussel sprouts, but I have been informed it's now the size of a kiwi, love them too. Got shares in kleenex already. Looking forward to every step of my baby girl's pregnancy, and have arranged an HGV to deliver tissues on the big day. I probably will mention baby talk again I won't be able to help myself.
Thank you for the lovely comment about my card this week and to think you think I am good enough for the new craft channel is over whelming, but like I have said in the past, I only have a face for radio.

Hi Tina, Congratulations and best wishes on the news of the new baby.It will make you feel so much younger when it arrives - so much love to give and lots and lots to teach them. You even have a great excuse to do all the childish things you would love to do - yes, even a ride on the merry -go-round or helter-skelter- so much to look forward to, not forgetting the little things to teach them, like waving their hands and giggling. Oh! there is so much happiness to come, so much love.Looks at the times you can teach them to make cards and flowers and showing them what a butterfly is. Oh dear I am getting carried a way a bit, I am so excited for you. Yes I do love your card today I would never have thought to make a black card for Xmas, but it looks great. Love to you all. Hi Boss
DeleteThank you Steph, I know you were pleased with our special news
Sometimes I panic and think that's it, I cannot come up with anything else. I sit in my workroom and think of a colour scheme, then cut lots of the dies I have been sent and then somehow something kicks in. I have loads of die cuts in a box that I didn't use and think they will make a quick card in the future, it's pretty full now. That's a hell of a comment Thank you. The pink centre is the new baby pink foundation card. I didn't realise when I used it, it was called baby pink, how apt!.

Fingers crossed Claire has a happy pregnancy, but at the moment she is just finding eating difficult. if she doesn't get the food she fancies within 30 minutes she can't eat it, there is a very small window of time between meals. If you don't get it right she's poorly, Sorry Lynda.

Hi Tina. I am so pleased to hear about your wonderful news. Your first grandchild !! You must be over the moon !! Lots of great times ahead for you all. I would like to say a big Congratulations to you and your family !! X x x
ReplyDeleteI love to hear about your cats to. I am a big animal lover. When I met my other half, I had a cat called Charlie and he had a dog called Charlie !! He also had another dog called Fudge. All of a sudden life became very confusing when they all moved in with two Charlie's in the house !! We have ended up having to call the cat Charlie-puss. They are all very spoilt and give us so much laughter !!
Your card this week Tina is just absolutely stunning !! Your gorgeous Poinsettia's are amazing !! They look so delicate and so pretty. You have used Poinsettia's on many of your Christmas cards but each time you have made them look so different from the previous ones. You are so clever. It just shows how versatile these dies really are. I love the colours you have used and I would never have thought of putting these colours together but they look a great match. As for the beautiful Snowflake border, I am hoping to get this one eventually when funds allow ( I really hope before Christmas !!) I have the Merry Christmas die but I have not made any Christmas cards yet as I am still making some birthday cards for family and friends. I am hoping to start some soon though. Thank you so much for sharing your stunning card Tina. Sending you and your family lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x
Hi Tres
DeleteThank you Tres, I am totally over the moon I have wanted this for years. Claire is still feeling a bit on the delicate side but when she has a good day she looks stunning. I will pass on your thought, thank you Tres.
What are the chances of meeting someone with a pet with the same name. I couldn't think of a home without pets and I'm still working on Paul to let me rescue another dog. There are so many that need a home, and I think Berkeley would think it was ok to give another dog the home she had with us. They are all so special in their own little ways.
I hope your finances will allow you to get these dies, you won't be disappointed. I thought long and hard but I'm glad I gave in, I love it and I think it's time less as there will always be snowflakes, right!! Sounds like you are going to be kept quite busy before you can start your Christmas cards

Tina, I have just recently found your blog and absolutely love, love, love your cards! Am trying to do one like this for a special friend's Christmas - couple of questions - what kind of glue do you use to put down the sparkle on the poinsettias? Another general question, I have seen people using spray glue to adhere items on some of the sites and if you do as well, what kind do you use? I have tried one last night to put on the snowflake border and by this morning, the Iced Snow glitter was all falling off! Thanks for your help and again, keep up the lovely work!!!! I know its a little late for congratulations, but passing them on just the same. Nothing lovelier than a baby in the house!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
