Good Tuesday Morning Everyone
I hope you all had a good weekend, mine was very quiet thank goodness. We are still finding confetti from last weekend, it got everywhere. I found a piece stuck to Mo Mo (cat) in the bedroom, but no one went over that side of the house on party day because of all the cats. We found the confetti very static and when you scattered it onto the table it jumped back and stuck to your hand. So maybe when the cats were allowed back into the other side of the house and ran through the lounge some probably stuck to them, and it's them scattering around. Hey Ho!
We are taking Claire out to lunch today as it's her birthday, so something lovely to look forward to. She doesn't want to go too far from her home as it's worrying her to go too far afield as she is having Braxton hicks contractions now. I've told her they're nothing to worry about, but it's her first time and she needs to feel she is in control, what ever makes her happy we're happy to go along with.
Did you do anything for Valentine's day? We don't celebrate Valentine's day, but I was treated to Scrambled eggs, Salmon & Caviar for breakfast and Paul cooked a lovely roast for dinner too. So I had a lovely day and shut myself in my workroom and made today's card. Spoiled or what!
Anyway, have a lovely week everyone. See you same time same place next week. XX

Sorry can't remember where I got the mold
First I made a mat and layer of mirror card and white card, then embossed the white layer with the Rose garden folder. The second layer was done in the same way. To get both the layers to match I made a pencil mark on the folder when I embossed the 1st layer. For the 2nd layer I decided how much smaller the 2nd layer was going to be and just place it at that distance under the original mark. If this doesn't make sense and you want a tutorial just ask, as I don't want to teach anyone to suck eggs, so to speak. I then gave each layer definition with sticky pads. I then cut and embossed the Toronto die in white card and also cut the outer die in each size in mirror card as backing on both layers, also using sticky pads for dimension. I made several roses and placed around the focal point. I also made some clay roses just to fill in the odd space, added leaves and dried flowers, which I love, they're so pretty.
I hope you liked it.

Hi Tina
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would pop in and hey presto you have posted earlier than usual and oh WOW! What an
exquisitely elegant card and lovely to see you spreading your wings being able to use different dies and embossing folders.....how pretty that Tattered lace embossing folder is too. It's been a while since I used my clay, I think I used it that much when it first came out that I got fed up with it but I have to sat those tiny roses are just so cute. I also love the pink and blue together and such a lovely sentiment to finish it with.
So pleased you had a lovely restful day on Sunday, your breakfast Paul made for you sounded so yummy, though I have to admit to never trying caviar
Have a lovely lunch with Claire today, another week has passed and her due time is coming so close now Tina so like you I can understand that she doesn't want to go to far. I can't wait for the day the news that your beautiful baby granddaughter has arrived. I shall start checking your blog soon to see if there is any news. Take care Tina and enjoy your day.
Love and hugs Sheila xx
Ooops! Forgot to say Happy Birthday to Claire xx
DeleteHi Sheila
DeleteI know my card went on line ,my fault I forgot to schedule it and just pressed publish, but really pleased you liked it. I've got a few more EF from Tattered lace to use over the next few weeks.
Regarding the clay roses, I made a big batch before joining CE and they have been looking at me for 18 months so felt I had to give them a show, but I know what you mean.
We did have a lovely day, absolutely beautiful meal in a little country pub. We had 3 courses and just wanted to go home and sleep. It couldn't have been better weather, the sun shone although a tad nippy. A great meal beautiful surroundings and a meal for 4 even though you could only see 3.
I'll pass on your birthday wishes, Thank you Sheila X

Hi Tina,
ReplyDeletelovely card as usual, love the way you've "snaked" the flowers across. I'm chasing builders in between trying to make sense of building plans (to do with our objections to the monstrosity at the back of me - yes, still ongoing!). Might just go into my craft room for some recuperation!
Speak soon,
hugs, Rose
Hi Rose
DeleteGlad you liked the card this week.
I thought you meant builders in your home so those kitties become a little closer. My goodness you are having a big battle. I hope they come to an agreement so that you and your neighbours can get on with enjoying your gardens.

Good afternoon Tina flower, what a gorgeous Tina card, a real Tina card with the butterflies and roses that look so realistic looking. I hope that Claire had a lovely lunch for her birthday today and yes flower the Braxton Hicks to a first timer feels oh so real from personal experience and you do get scared to go to far just in case but normally find that you still have a few weeks to go and it's just um tottie telling mummy that they're just about ready to come out and meet them as their fed up being couped up in that tiny space. As long as she has a lovely day Tina that's all that matters. Kirsten wasn't due until July 8th last year but upon finishing nursing in the Acute Assessment Unit(the busiest place in the whole hospital) on the 8th of June, landed in on the 11th with pre eclampsia which they allowed to turn into full blown eclampsia and doing an emergency C section on her, so i became a granny a bit before i was ready to. Remember Mum ALWAYS knows best when it comes to their child even supposing she is in her 20's, 30's Mum always knows best. You must be getting excited as well at becoming a Granny flower and it is so very different a feeling from becoming a Mummy so enjoy your wee lass while you still have her on her own and then enjoy her more when baby comes.

Norah (Glenochil Village)
Hi Norah
DeleteSo pleased you liked my card this week Norah.
We had a really lovely meal together, it was just Me, Paul & Claire but as Toby & Craig were working, but we're going to arrange another day to celebrate Craig, Paul & Claire's birthday when we can all get together.
I love hearing your versions of Braxton hicks it sounds more able to cope with.
I can't believe they allowed your Kirsten to into full eclampsia. You put your babies under the care of the hospital and expect them to receive a due birthing experience, shame on them, but more so it's your baby that is going through it and would want to spare them any of this.
We are so excited, but are so on tenterhooks for the delivery time, scared & excited. It all feels so unreal. When I see Claire with her perfect bump and think my little granddaughter is in there it's a miracle, and such special memories to share. I didn't get to share these memories with my mum as she died 7 weeks before we married. So I think this is why I am so happy with my little bundle coming because I know my mum would have been over the moon to share my Claire & Craig.
Big Hugs Norah

Hi Tina
ReplyDeleteYes... A proper Tina card this one, roses, butterflies and beautifully put together. It is lovely to show people what can be achieved by mixing and matching stash as all we ever see is one companies own products in demonstrations, wherever you go. It's much more realistic to people at home to see a mix of items. I've always been a crafty cross pollinator myself! As much as I love certain brands I do like to mix things up.
Will start my Tina pin board today! Am in the process of making a board of some of my bits too though that one is hidden til I can get on the computer to where all of my pictures are.
Your special breakfast sounds great. We don't do valentines day other than Mr W pushing the boat out with a special tea. He made sausage casserole. Would've been beef but he forgot to buy any so I looked in the freezer to see what we had. It turned out fantastically well so we'll be having that again! He doesn't believe in one day to show someone you love them as he says you should do that every day.
Braxton Hicks can be quite painful from what I've been told/ have witnessed. I hope Claire was able to enjoy your lunch out despite that. Not long now at all, hope you're both ready and prepared so you can enjoy the build up to the birth. Had to laugh at confetti on the cats bum, the shiny type cling to everything. We've come home from parties and found it on Billy days later, in the car weeks later and down the back of the sofa months later! He's also a magnet for sticky foam pads (the tiny ones that get dropped on the floor, you can't see them so use another and forget to look for the ones you drop) and of course glitter. Not a great look for a big scruffy dog, fur twinkling in the street lights. Oh well, be safe, be seen I suppose!
Take care, hugs to you and the family and special hugs for Claire,
T x
Hello Tina,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really beautiful card and what a stunner. everything about it says "Tina",
We don't make a big thing of Valentine's Day, but after nearly 50 years marriage, I reckon he loves me!!! And if he doesn't, well it's too late now ha ha.
I'm glad you had such a lovely day with Claire, oh I can feel the excitement up here in Newcastle. Not too long now before the wonderful event.
I was with my daughter and son in law when my first Granddaughter was born, which was amazing as I hadn't seen her being born. The love is indescribable and all encompassing. Mind, I was worried sick, and didn't really want to be there, but in the event I was glad she asked me.
Take care, I hope Claire keeps in good health.

ReplyDeleteHello Tina ,
ReplyDeleteAnother truly lovely card and it is nice to see you using different things and being able to fly free!!! Not free fall - fly free!!
Love the different colours of your flowers today! They look amazing.
It's a really exciting time for you all and I do hope everything goes well and you will be holding that gorgeous little bundle of joy before you know it! Love Myra xxx
Hi Tina. Oooooh this is a beautiful card !!! I love anything to do with the Canadian Collection at the moment. Your focal topper is really pretty with the silver mirri card shinning through from underneath. As always Tina, I absolutely adore your gorgeous Rose flowers !!! They just look so real !!! Very pretty cute little clay Roses to. I think your background EF is really lovely. I don't generally go for tattered lace stuff as I think it quite expensive in comparison to other craft stuff but I do really like this Roses folder. Cute little butterflies to. Where would we be without our beautiful butterflies. I am definitely a big fan of them !!! Really lovely colours you have used to Tina. I think this is a true Tina style card and I absolutely love it all. Thank you for sharing it. x x x
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful Valentines day. You are very lucky to have Paul spoiling you like that. Both myself and Steve were unwell all Valentines day !!! I bought Steve a little present (which still has not been delivered yet !!) and he bought me the Phil Martin Cosmic shimmer bundle Chic Pumpkin which is fab. Such a great colour that goes really well with quite a lot of my foundations card stock colours so I am a very happy bunny !!! I am glad you had a lovely day with Claire on her Birthday. Not to long to go now Tina. I bet you are all counting down the days. Such a wonderful time for your family. Well take care Tina. We hope to hear from you soon. All our love Tres and Steve x x x
I'm sure in one of the photos there's some belly button fluff ;o)
ReplyDeleteAahhh! I am so pleased to see another elegant card that you have made and to hear from you. I have been worried about you and your family. So good to hear that Claire is expecting this little girl. I did not know she was pregnant. My prayers continue for both of you and this precious baby's wellbeing.
ReplyDeleteHidden in the symbolism of the seventy-eight cards that comprise a tarot card deck are secrets of the Universe, the evolution of humankind, the mythological and psychological archetypes of every human being, spiritual enlightenment, and so much more. More? Isn't that enough? Perhaps no one in their right mind wants to know this much information; after all, our lives are complicated enough. However, as an added bonus, tarot cards tell us our future, and who doesn't want to know that? Thus, the irony is two-fold. Associated with our wanting to know the future, the tarot deliciously entices us to feed, and we are satiated, albeit temporarily, all the while veiling our greater need to "know thyself," which is the perfect and eternal nourishment for our mind, body, and soul-spirit. one card tarot
