30th Birthday card

Good afternoon lovely blog visitors

This is the card I made for Craig for his Big  3  0  today. I find it difficult to make man cards, and I don't think he would appreciate some flowers and butterflies. What do you reckon?

Oh well here goes. I hope he likes it!

  2. Guy's cards are always hard. This is a great on though. Craig should be happy with this. Did you make the background paper yourself? Really like it.

    1. Hi Janice

I was so sure I wrote to you last night, I must have written it and not posted it. Yes I did make the background paper. It's Sue Wilson's Faux leather effect, and thank you, yes Craig did like it.

  5. Hi Tina,
I think Craig will love it and even more so that he can see that it was made just for him. I don't understand why these men don't like frills, ribbons and bows myself or even nice sparkles and dazzles but hey that is what makes them them i suppose. I hope that he has a great birthday flower and enjoys his jump into his 30's.
    Love and crafty hugs

    1. Hi Norah

How are you?. I agree with you everyone needs a bit of sparkle in their life. We had a really lovely evening and ate lots, everyone had a couple of drinks except the birthday boy as he was driving. I don't know what it is about 30, I remember thinking my goodness I'm so old now.

      Take care

  6. Hi Tina,
Just noticed had an email to say you had a lovely new card! I think it's quite inspired! I love the rosette idea . It could be adapted for all sorts of things too. Mother's Day, Father's Day etc. I find it difficult to come up with ideas for the children's class on Mondays and this could be adapted! Thank you!
    Hope Craig had. Lovely Birthday.
    Thanks so much ,
    Love Myra xx

  7. Hi Tina. This is a lovely card for a man. I love the background you have created and the mica flakes letters and numbers. Like you, I wish I could put flowers ect on their cards to !! To be honest I have actually, in the past, put Sue Wilsons Classic Bows on some of the men's cards I have made. So far, none of them have objected. Unless they are just being polite !! I hope your son had a lovely Birthday. Sending you lots of love from Tres x x x

    1. Thank you Tres, We had a lovely evening, and we have another one on Sunday as his sister couldn't make it on the day , so we are all getting together again, and the best bit is I'm only making the dessert. Deep joy!! hoping to put my feet up and be waited on. Watch this space. I think we ought to put a flower on the man cards and tell em to get over it.

      Big hugs

  12. Hi Tina, Thank you very much for the man's card idea. I hope Craig liked it. I have 5 Grandsons and three sons and I never have a clue where to start with a card for any of them - I'm afraid they have always had to do with a bought one.
Such a shame especially with all the dies and stamps in the house. I must try harder - but I'm afraid I really enjoy making the pretty ones. Mary- Durham

  14. Hello Tina,
I have looked on your blog every day but the last card was the one you made in the middle of January for your niece's engagement. Then, today, somehow I got onto this blog and found you again!! I am going to look at all the cards I've missed on this site, and hopefully will be able to find it again when I log out!!!
Male cards are very difficult, in fact so difficult I just send the same one to George every year, and have done for at least the past 20+ years - he's never noticed yet lol.
See you again, I hope, and off to look at your other cards. Oops, I forgot to say that a named card is a great idea.

  15. Hi Maureen

Love your style, I don't think I could get away with asking for the card back so that I can give back to him next year, but it's my husbands birthday Wednesday and I know he won't remember. Thanks for the tip. Love it!

  16. Hi hon. Im so behind with your blog ! Im so sorry. Having this order thrown at me plus hospital appointments has thrown me off a bit.
Glad Craig liked his card. Id rather buy Andy's cards, too hard keeping up with what to do when you've exhausted all 3 of his interests !! MEN !!
    Love n hugs.
