Believe in Yourself

Good Tuesday morning all.

Thank you so much for visiting me on my last blog and leaving me some lovely messages. I can't tell how much those lovely comments mean, and I hope will like my latest card.

I hope you had a lovely weekend, and the weather was kind to you all, although speaking to people on my email it's been a bit cooler up country.

This weeks DT card is a lot less fussy than others I have made. I made some  daisies this week as I thought you might bee getting bored of roses.

At the end of the photo's of the DT card, I will show you a picture of the other man  I spent the weekend with along with hubby Paul. T ( Wheely Bad ) this is the picture I promised you, sorry it's late.

Our adopted boy Doug, I really miss him. We had such a lovely weekend having a dog around the home again. Such a gentle giant.

Products Used-:

Couture Creations- Swiss dots embossing folder
CE Foundations card- Coconut Milk, Black & Vintage gold
Spellbinders- Delicate Asters
CE John Lockwood- Daisey Striplet
Sentiment from CE- John Lockwood Elements Stamps, Lotus Frame
Cosmic Shimmer- Graceful Mustard
Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder- Black
Clear gems from my stash
Creative Expressions- Yellow dazzlers

Firstly I matt and layered 2 layers of black, antique gold and Swiss dots card of various dimensions. Then stamped the Daisey Striplet stamp with clear medium and embossed with the black embossing powder. I then painted  the daisies with the mustard mica powder and a little water. Then matt and layered with black and antique gold card. The sentiment was cut to make a longer length message, and then matt and layered it on a forked flag with the black and gold card. For the finishing touch I cut some daisies, 4 layers each flower and added a dazzler to the centre, on the daisy striplet I added some clear gems from my sparkly stash.

A quick card to make, I hope you like it.

Take care, have a good week and will talk soon

Big Hugs to all :-)

  2. Hi Tina,
What a beautiful card, and your daisies are lovely. Have you cut the aster die out in vellum or white card? If I use vellum it seems wishy washy, and sometimes the card is too stiff, but your's are perfect, grrrr.
The dog is a little??? smasher.

Yes I did use white vellum. They are a bit stiff, but the problem I have is, as soon as I add the glue to layer them they curl up like those love fish you put in your hand to see how much in love you were with your little man when you were in the infants. Do you remember this or is this just another tumble weed moment I have got myself into. I have to unfold the layers of petals and flatten them for a minute. once they are flat I add the dazzler and then fold pull the petals up. Sorry if I teaching you to suck eggs, really don't mean to.

I have to agree with you Doug is a real smasher, I've got the bruises to show for it. He doesn't look big in the photo but trust me he is a big boy with a powerful tail.

  3. Morning Tina,
well it may not be your usual card, but you have still put your stamp on it. It's really lovely. The daisies are so pretty, and although I don't do much stamping, I do like John's stamps. A bit different.
Doug looks a real character, and I guess you did have a good time doggie-sitting with him, and the walks were fine. How do some dogs have such a wide range of expressions, he looks puzzled as to why you are on the other side of the door from him.
    Cheers

I can't help putting a flower or two maybe more on my cards. I wanted to put a butterfly on it but Paul said NO!

That face through the window made us laugh as Doug gets dry teeth and his mouth gets stuck on them and it make him look quite comical and as if he has a dirty smell under his nose. He was a complete pleasure to look after, and he's coming to stay in June when Hannah & Craig go to Glastonbury, can't wait.

  4. Tina, I love this card, ok not your "Tina" card. On saying that, this is a close contender. Oh, love your adopted family member? Is this your way of showing Paul another dog would be a good idea??? Mines is watching every move I make! He is like this when I have been to work as he will smell Moss and i think it's a bit of jealousy? Hazel,x

Thank you, it's as close as I can get with using stamps rather than dies. Isn't Doug handsome, but as far as making Paul want another dog he is adamant he doesn't want one, but then so am I that I do!. Big hugs to Harris

  5. Hi Tina,
Oh it's still a Tina Card! I do like your daisies they are lovely and it makes a change from the roses and also just right for this card. However I will never get sick of your roses!
He looks a real character ! Pleased you had a lovely weekend.

I do like making the daisies as they are really quick and very Spring/ Summer looking. I have to genuinely say that I make a rose and have to leave it overnight as I don't like and I have to fiddle about with it until I'm happy.

I don't think the photo of Doug does him justice of his size. I can straddle him and have to stand on tip toes and I'm 5'-6". That's why we call him the gentle giant. Hannah told me he's about 2 1/2 yrs old and has never barked. He would rather have his tummy tickled than fetch a toy. Over the weekend I taught him to die when I say Bang, we need lots of room as he takes up lots of space.

My next card is going to have roses. I've said this but at the moment I haven't got a clue what I am going to do. I just know I have rose withdrawal.. It's lovely to hear from you whatever time you come to my blog. Are you having a lovely time in Germany, are you there on holiday or is it for work.

Jane I wish Doug was going to be my permanent family member, but Hannah loves him so much and he has a good life and as she is a vet he is so spoilt by all the staff.

      Enjoy yourself in Germany

Thank you. I love using vellum it is just a gentle look to flowers especially. I have a photo of him somewhere after he had a shower and Hannah brought over a polo neck sweater to keep him warm. He looked a real dapper, I will look it out and post it on the end of my next blog. just so long as people aren't getting bored with me talking about the big man.

  10. Good morning Tina, Wow! oh! Wow! another stunning card. Not 100% a "Tina" card but stunning just the same.
Love, love, love everything you have done on it.
I also LOVE that face at the door!!! Oh! I can see both sides of the story as well.
We don't and never had dogs. J&A have always had 2 dogs (Border Collies) and I know how they missed Roy when they had to have him put to sleep. They soon replaced him with another, she is so sweet. We used to look after them when they went on holiday. We had to stop when John fell over one of them. John broke his back in an accident a few years ago and is so frightened of falling.
We have to be very carful these days.
Sorry I have not been commenting as much as I should. So busy here just now all in a good way.
Been back to have a look at all your beautiful makes, I so admire your wonderful cards.
    Have a great day

    1. Hi Patricia

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. The picture really doesn't do justice to how big he is. My goodness what an awful accident John had, you both must have been so worried about the outcome. Thank God he is OK. Understandably, I don't think I would get a dog, just in case!. Patricia, I to am sorry I haven't commented on your blog lately, I just don't know who nicks the hours out of my day. Patricia it was seeing your beautiful roses that inspired me,and you gave me a big boost by mentioning my blog on yours, and for that I thank you so much.

  11. Hi Tina

Love it! The vellum daisies make it really special. I love vellum or parchment for flowers. When the coloured/ patterned vellums were huge for wedding stationary about 6 years ago I brought a load, just fab for coloured flowers but I still like white best. The panel looks beautiful all coloured in. Delicate asters are on the list (rose first, less than a week til I can order!).

Doug is beautiful, possibly a tiny bit bigger than Billy (who is 'only' 27 3/4" at the shoulder). I loved your play dead trick, dogs learn fast if it's fun and they are rewarded with something they like (Billy is very food driven!). Billy is the opposite of Doug with regard to noise- barks of all pitches- from doberman to lhasa apso with everything in between, whimpers, grumbles, tazmanian devil noises. Even when he's asleep he's he's making a noise- apart from the snoring he also 'talks' in his sleep, barely audible versions of the noises he makes when he's awake!
He's looking out the window at the minute, with his bum perched on the back of 'his' chair!

Must go, boiler broke again last night and waiting for repairer. Bet he turns up while I'm in the bathroom!

    Hugs,

    1. Hi T

You bet your sweet bippy he turn's up when you are in the bathroom, I hope not though! I love using vellum fo the flowers, not tried ir for roses yet, Watch this space. I also bought some floral vellum and it sits looking at me as if to say so when is it my time to shine. I can promise you you will use the rose die and the asters often.

Your Billy sound's quite vocal ever thought of putting on Britains got talent, Simon Cowell will love him, I can just imagine him having those lovely dreams, bless him. Wouldn't it be nice to see what they see in their dreams.

I can just imagine Billy looking out of the window with his bum on the chair, how lovely. Thank you for sharing that with me.

      Big Hugs T & Billy

    Hi Tina,
I love this card - am a sucker for clean lines, too. And vellum for flowers is great. Best of all is I've got them (well, there's hardly a flower I haven't got!). Just watching Sue Wilson and John Lockwood on POTD shows and I must say, when I first saw the cornflower die I thought it was a bit strange. Until I saw what they produce! I love it now but am holding fire until I see what Sue has produced with her new dies at the end of April.
Beautiful weather here, too. And a little bit warmer than of late, hope it keeps that way for tomorrow when I shall be visiting "my" tiger cubs at the zoo.
    How are your toes?

    1. Hi Rose

I have trawled the internet to get as many flower dies as I can, also butterflies. The cornflower is the only one I haven't bought. I resisted buying any other dies this time and I am looking forward to spending that money on her new dies

glad you are having this beautiful sunshine too, makes everything look so much better.
