Thinking Of You

Hi Everyone

Happy Tuesday Morning to you all, and I hope you all had a happy and peaceful Easter break, I have to say I had a fab one. I got to see my Claire & Craig and their respective partners on Saturday, my sister on Sunday and crafting on Monday, how lucky am I.

With this card I had another go of the fire & ice Technique. It wasn't the best technique when you have one of the little kitties in the room. I was trying to mix a few of the pots of gilding flakes as I wanted it to match the main colour of the card. Bubble saw a few flakes moving on the desk and thought she would take a closer look. When she jumped onto my table it circulated air that then made the flakes float even more. Well that was it it all happened so fast, her paws and her nose were in my gilding flakes before I could even reach for the lids. I remembered to close the patio door turn the ceiling fan off but didn't look for kitties. She was escorted out of my room with flakes on her whiskers, tail and paws, she did look cute though and she did have fun. I just gathered up the flakes that she played with and this is the result. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away and start again. I think Bubble did quite well.

Ramble finished, I hope you like this weeks make for Creative Expressions.

Products Used:-

Sue Wilson's- Scandinavian Collection- Corner, Border & Tag
Sue Wilson's- Caribbean Island Collection- St Lucia
Spell Binders- Twisted Metal Tags & Accents

Spellbinders- Butterfly Les Papillions Two.

First I started by Matt and layering Black and the orange pearl card and then embossed with bed of roses EF. The 2nd  matt & layering I used White, Black & Orange pearl and emboss the orange card again and used strips of sticky pads for dimension. I stamped 2 lots of Scribble rose stamp with gilding flake glue and added gilding flakes. Then cut into 4 identical strips. I covered each strip with double sided sticky sheets and then covered with iced snow glitter. I then made a square with the 4 strips, added sticky pads to the back and attached to card for more dimension. I made the focal point with 4 different dies and used different levels of sticky strips and pads for dimension and added down into the square. I made a rose and coloured it wild honey and drew veins on it with a paint brush added the leaves, just to finish it off I put a few drops of Glossy Accents for dew drops,
and Et Voila!.  Really hope you like this one too.

    Hi Tina,
your Bubbles is a super mixer LOL - and so funny with it. I had to laugh when I read your description of events.
Your card is very pretty - that rose is a beauty. Love the fire and ice technique on your strips of scribble rose. Couldn't see the twisted metal die but finally spotted it - wow, what a focal point!
So glad you had a lovely Easter, you certainly deserve it. Have a great week, too.

    1. Hi Rose

Thank you Rose, I'm thinking of starting Bubble on an art course, with that talent she should go far. I think you have the same humour as me, could you just imagine her with her own workbench and a little chair in my room mixing all my gilding flakes, especially if I put the overhead fan on to help things along. Utter chaos!!,

      Talk soon

    1. Hi Jane

I will give Bubble an extra bit of food tonight and tell her what a good job everyone thought she had done, she's going to expect a food raise everyday at this rate.. I have to confess that rose has been in a box of "not sure I'll use it" box. I thought it looked a bit tatty too highly coloured, So what did I do but added veins and somehow it looked better. Another lesson for me not to throw things away.

I don't know if you do come back to read reply messages but, could I just ask do you live abroad or do your children live abroad. If so could I ask where. You can tell not to be a nosey old B.

  4. Tina, your cards just keep getting better and better. This is a real stunner. How many layers of petals do you put in your roses? This looks so real, especially with the little drop of dew. I love the colour scheme of this card, really striking.
I had to laugh, I could just see Bubbles, gold flakes all through her fur. She would have thought it was great fun. I used to have a long haired black and white cat who got into everything. One day he got into a bag which held cement dye, ever seen a black and pink cat? He was like a play toy, just on this planet to be cuddled and play, while the female we had was the hunter. No kitties now, just our old
German Shepherd. He is the one who still wants to play and be cuddled. Yes, I have always had a home where pets rule. And I love it.
    Thanks for sharing your talent

    1. Hi Janice

Thank you so much for your lovely words about my card, I would love to have seen a pink cat play toy trying to be the man of the house while the female puddycat is doing the hunting., never a dull moment.

Janice, since losing my Berkeley dog. I am now ready to rescue another dog, old dog or not so old, but Paul won't say yes. We were both devastated at Berkeley leaving us so young . He did say when he retires maybe we will get another dog,but I don't know if I can wait that long. I couldn't imagine coming home to a house without a pet. What is your boy's name and how old is he, Aren't they just so special.

Big Hugs & one for your German Shepherd

    2. He's 10 and a half now, so steeling myself no not having him around for much longer.Name is Bracken. I'll look for your email address and send you a pic. We lost our last shepherd at 11. Bracken's already been through the wars, almost lost him a few years ago with bloat, when his stomach filled with gas, then again a couple of years ago when his spleen had to be removed. So he's pretty tough (and expensive) and a real character.

    1. Hi Jane

I know Rose comes back but I didn't realise any one else did. I like to answer as much as I can. If people take time out to visit my blog I like to say thank you. Of course you can use my email, I would love to see some Spanish sunsets. We get some pretty spectacular sunsets here just as it goes down over Pepperbox Hill near Salisbury. What part of Spain do you live? I have been to Spain just once. Hubby's sister had a place in Nerja, I loved the holiday but the flight was horrendous and it was my 1st time and the take off coming home was worse.

I look forward to seeing your lovely sunsets.

  6. Hi Tina,
This is gorgeous with a capital G. Mind you I'd weep if any of my gilding flakes went awry in any way. I'm like a mad woman gathering up every little scrap as they are too precious to lose!! You'd think they were real gold the way I went on!!!.
I always go back a day or two later to read your replies, so your efforts are not in vain!

    1. Hi Maureen

Thank you, and thank you for coming back to read the replies. I must keep this up.

I must admit I wanted to cry cried, but if I had made any kind of noise I would have made her jump and things could have been a lot worse. It did take me ages to get every last bit back in their boxes. I even went after Bubble and picked some off her whiskers and tail and the hall and the lounge. There was quite a lot stuck on Bubble because of the static. What a mess. I think it took twice as long to clear up than it did to make the card.

    2. Hi Tina,
      I always look back too!
I love this card and your rose looks real as do the leaves!
Fire and Ice is fun but I've personally never introduced a pussy cat to the proceedings! I get in a big enough mess all by myself!
I did smile when I thought of you following Bubble to retrieve what you could.
Keep up the good work! It is lovely work!
      Love Myra xxxx
Ps just had a visit from a sparrow hawk in my Son's garden. Everything flew away apart from a fat, sunbathing wood pigeon!

    3. Hi Myra

I'm really glad that you come back too. Thank you for saying my rose looks real. As I told Jane it was was I had put in to scrap box, I knew it was going to be a busy weekend of entertaining and I needed to get my card made so that CE could get it scheduled for Tuesday so I thought I'd have another look in my scrap box, I came across the rose so thought I would tart it up a bit as I do take a long time to make my roses.

I guess the sparrow hawk was looking for a tasty little morsel to feed his family. Isn't their food chain cruel. Was the Pigeon OK, I guess it would have been too much of a lump to fly off with.

      Take care Myra

    5. Hi Lynda

Thank you Lynda. I know the dew drop effect was around a few years ago on artificial flowers, but it was by accident I did this effect. The nozzle was clogged so I pierced it with a pin and just squeezed the bottle and was surprised how it kept it's shape. So I gave it ago. Glad you liked it. Regarding Bubble you could tell where she had been, she could never have hidden from me it would have been a dead give away.

Can you believe it ? : 0
