Sending you Roses

Good Tuesday morning to you all.

It's lovely to see you back at my blog again today, and hope you linger long enough to leave a comment.

This month I have been sent some John Lockwood stamps. You know me I love my dies, but these stamps are also beautiful ,and I hope I can do them justice over the next month.

I hope you like this one too.

Here goes!!

Products Used:-

8x8 Black card
Sue Wilson- Greek Island collection- Corner, border & tag die
John Lockwood- Skeleton leaves stam
John Lockwood- Elements stamps- Scribble Rose
John Lockwood- Dogwood Flower stamps
Spellbinders- Fancy tag two
Creative expressions- Mica powders
Cosmic Shimmer- Embossing powder
Tim Holtz- distress ink- Weathered wood
Sue Wilson- EF Rambling Rose
Creative Expressions- Vintage gold card
Creative Expressions- Periwinkle blue card
Creative Expressions- Foundation Card- black
cosmic shimmer - Mica powder, braceful Mustard, green & iced blue sparkle
spellbinders- Rose creations

Firstly I Matt and layered the vintage gold card with periwinkle blue & black card. I embossed the periwinkle card with Sue wilson EF. I made a 2nd layer with vintage gold , periwinkle & black card and also embossed the periwinkle card with the Rambling Rose EF. I stamped JL striplet stamp and embossed with CS embossing powder, and then painted with mica powder. I cut a few leaves out to make a 3d layer on the striplet. I made a rose with the SB rose die and hand painted one with weathered wood ink and coloured the other with the blue sparkle mica powder, using a tad of water. I stamped several leaves of various sizes and coloured them with the mica powder. I made the dimensional focal point with the fancy tag two die using the Greek collection CB & tag die & the scribble rose stamp. I hand painted the leaves,1 of the roses, the striplet and the sentiment frame with Creative Expressions Mica powder. Butterflies were cut from foundation card  and coloured with mica powders.

I hope you like it. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and if you have stayed long enough to leave a comment, an even bigger Thank you.

Hope to see you all again soon.

Big Hugs

  2. Noticed this late last night on CE. What an amazing look. John's leaf stamp combined with such realistic roses, it looks like the movies where everything else is cartoon type and the lead character is real. It really makes the roses jump out. A fantastic card. To me, better than a bunch of roses, which will wilt soon.
    Cheers

I don't know how my card was leaked out early, but Hey Ho!. It's lovely that you got to see it. I love your concept of the card as Paul ( hubby) said something similar. Thank you Janice, I hope you won't wilt and come back again soon.

    Hi Tina,
this card is beautiful, I love the use of mica powders, so subtle. Must admit, those leaves stamps are gorgeous, might have to get these. They are also easy to cut and decoupage (or whatever the correct name is).
Hope your roof is still on, we've had really noisy storms all through the night. Did your dinner guest visit despite the weather?
    Hugs, Rose

    2. Hi Rose

Thank you, you got it right it is decoupage, or at least that's what I call it and have got away with it, so far!. The wind has been. quite brutal and is still blowing things around now. I came home this afternoon to find the decking furniture totally opposite side of the decking.

      Hi Tina,
Let's hope your dapper supper guest is not going to be blown over, or rather his supper............
I shall go to bed NOW and listen to the wind howling, love being snuggled up in bed then.
      Take care,

The longest part of the card was coming up with the idea, I've got to start all over again for next weeks card. Once I had coloured and cut everything it didn't take too long at all.

  8. Hi Tina, What a beautiful card. It shines and sparkles and what about those brilliant hand made roses? - I think they look great so perfectly made and the leaves just finish it off. Have you still got your badger coming to see you ? Mary - Durham

    1. Hi Mary

Yes he came back again for DinDins about 1 am ish. I took yet more photo's. I think he is going to ask for more nuts as his time being filmed are getting longer. I draw a line at a star on the decking and lights around his/her chair, but if it keeps he/she coming back he can demand a few more extra's. I'm pleased you liked my card Mary. Thank you

  9. Wow, absolutely stunning card. It just blew me away. The colour combo is beautiful and would never have thought of putting those colours together. The roses are absolutely perfect and love the use of the mica powders. You have done such an outstanding job that I will try some of your techniques. I live in Canada and haven't been able to get any of John's stamps yet. Hopefully they will be over here soon as they look so wonderful. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas you have. This is the first time I have commented.

    1. Hi Cathy

Thank you for visiting my blog. You are so welcome and hope it won't be the last time. Thank you for saying such lovely things about my card. I have had some lovely comments about this card, but when I finished it on Sunday I wasn't too sure about it. As I have said on earlier blogs I never was a stamper until I joined the Creative Expressions design team last September. It's certainly got my grey matter working.

What Provence of Canada do you live, it's really nice to know where your blog friends come from. I hope you don't think I'm being nosey.

Hope to see you again soon

  10. Hi Tina.
Oh WOW. Your cards make me smile. You have done Cr Ex proud, I hope they appreciate you. It would be terrific if they made you a permanent DT member. I cant believe some of the DT cards just dont cut it, but every card you make is a Tina card with your signature roses, I know how much you stress that maybe some cards arn't what Cr Exp want but believe you me plus all your other visitor's here, you do the most fantastic cards, even if they send you the most difficult items to use you get it spot on everytime... So, maybe you will 'meet up' with that certain person we were laughing about a few months ago lol ooer missus, lucky you - not lol.
    Sending love n hugs.
