To My Bestie

Good Tuesday morning to all to my lovely regulars, Thank you, and to all that just pass through also a big Thank you for dropping by.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and will look forward to the slightly warmer weather at the start of the week , only to prepare for another cold snap at the end of the week. "Roll on Spring". Although I passed the fire station last Tuesday on the way to the wholesalers and there were some beautiful Daffodils in all their glory on their front lawn, they looked so beautiful, but so early.

This is one of the new stamps from Creative Expressions that I have been sent to make some cards for February, I've just jumped the gun a bit, but they don't mind.

This stamp is called "Best Friend".

Products used :-

8x8 card
Foundation White card
Sue Wilson- EF- Rambling rose-EF026
Sue Wilson-Frames & tags- Dainty rectangular Frame
Spellbinders- Matting Basics A
Creative Expressions- Best Friend stamp
Tim Holtz- Distress Inks- Wild honey
Creative Expressions- Gold Dazzler
Black & White stones from my stash

I started with an 8x8 black card, and matt and layered it with gold mirror card and an embossed layer of white card using the Rambling rose EF. I then used the spellbinders Matting dies in black, white  and mirror card. On the white card I stamped the Best Friend stamp. I stamped the sentiment onto white card and cut it out with the oblong die from the SW Frame & Tags die and coloured it with the wild honey ink. I used sticky pads on each layer for dimension. I made a big luscious bow and added a gold coloured Sparkle.

I really hope you like it. Please feel free to leave a comment. It's really nice to know what you think.

Take care all, talk soon.

  1. What a lovely cheerful card and such lovely warm colours you have so expertly chosen, but boy that is some luxurious bow that as usual changes the whole perspective of the card and puts it into the fabulous range once again. You really are going for the high accolades and reaching them each and every time with your super cards.

  2. Tina. I think this is a beautiful card with that stamp which is perfect to send to a best friend. It would cover birthdays or just to let them know how you feel about them. Oh boy that's a great bow, I do think it just finished it. Your right all the spring flowers are popping up, but it's going to knock them back with a cold snap? Take care. Hazel x

    1. Hi Hazel

Thank you Hazel, I know that bow looks big in the photo, but in real life it looks big, but not enormous.Everything seems to have come to life in the garden so early this year. I really hope that the bad weather forecast won't do too much damage. I'm finding the birds are feeding a lot more too especially the Woodpeckers and the Jay's and the Blue, Long tail and Great tit's are frantic. I the front garden outside my workroom I have 4 feeders and I fill them twice a day and in the back garden feeders are scattered around the fruit trees and I fill them up every morning. THEY ARE HUNGRY!

      Big Hugs

    1. Hi Janice

Snap I've got a friend like that too! We are certainly paying the price for having such a wonderful summer, or it was in Wiltshire. I never used to feel the cold but this year I really can't wait for a bit more heat. It's the dark evening I don't like but it's 5.15pm and we have light so It's going in the right direction. Take care and stay warm

  5. Hi Tina

Wowee! This really stands out from the crowd. Beautifully put together, the big bow takes it to another level. I like the stamp and sentiment. It'd make a fab birthday card for a close friend and I'm glad they went with silhouettes for this design. It would work with a lot of other sentiments. Another terrific card, Tina.
