"Golden Oldie's"

Hi My Blog Friends.

I'll start this message with my appointment to have an op on Thursday 23rd. We arrived for the appointment at 12.15 about 1 o'clock I was taken to my ward all the usual ob's done, and I found out I was 2nd on the list for my surgeon. The morning op's were running into the afternoon session and we were told there will be a little delay as the op staff needed a break. The lady 1st on the list next to me went down for her op about 2.30pm. All the other ladies in my ward were going down for their op's, under different surgeons and had been taken to recovery, brought back up to the ward and in time were sat up eating toast and having a cup of tea. I never knew toast smelt so good until you know you can't have any. Even the men that were in the side ward had gone down and come back and some were actually going home. Each nurse that was on my ward had gone for their lunch came back and said " you still here ". They even had their afternoon break and couldn't believe I was still here. Anyway at 4.15pm my nurse came over and said would you like to get yourself ready. I sat there with my beautiful backless gown on, modestly covered with my dressing gown. At about 5pm I said to Paul it'll be getting dark soon, at this rate I won't get out of recovery until it's dark and won't get get home till early evening . At 5.15pm The head nurse came over and said I'm so sorry but we are going to have to cancel your op today as the lady next door had a complication and was still in theatre, She then asked can you come back on Monday 27th at 12.30pm and they have promised I will be 1st on the list. I just really hope that the lady that was in the bed next to me is OK.

So Monday is another anxious day, really not looking forward to it again, as I got myself into quite a panic on Thursday. So fingers crossed it will go ahead on Monday.

There won't be a new card next week . I don't think I'll feel up to it after my op, and the 2nd & 3rd March is the 1st anniversary of when our stunningly beautiful Granddaughter passed on the 2nd March and when she was born on the 3rd. We only have Mother's Day to get through and then we have done all the most painful of 1st anniversaries. I really hope life gets a little easier as I don't think I could do another year like this last one. It's been unbelievably painful & difficult.

I've said this on many occasions, how wonderful your support has been throughout this awful year for our family. I'm really not very good with words, and Thank You just doesn't seem to do be enough to say to you all. I wish I could come and meet you all and give you all a personal heartfelt hug. XX.
Bless you all!

I've been making something for Claire & Toby for Evelyn's room and I will share this with you at some time after next weekend if you would like to see it.

On a much lighter note, I went right back to when I first started making cards and things back in 2013/2014 and chose a few different makes for you to look over again, some I don't know if I ever put them on my blog. It was all so new then and I really didn't know what I was doing not being computer savvy back then, and not much better now!.

Here Goes!

Christmas Crackers I made and the Christmas cards I sent below sent in 2013.

Card I made for Claire's future mum in-law back in 2014.

One of the 1st double layered stamping cards I made in 2014.

Finally, one of the first roses I made in 2014, even before MIL's card above.

I hope you enjoyed looking back over my very early makes.

I will be back with new cards soon.

Take care everyone, sending love & hugs and of course a big big Thank You too you all XX.

Final card for Feb

Hi friends

I hope you don't think I have cheated on you, well I have though! Sorry. I have been really busy since Thursday and didn't have time to make a new cards for my sister so I went to my trusty stack of cards and did an Eeny Meeny Miny Mo and this card was in the box I chose. I know Chicky hadn't seen it before, but I know many of you have, so I do apologise, I'll try harder next time, promise!. Chicky loved it!

Well it's a beautiful Spring like day here in this part of Wiltshire, I hope the sun is shining for you too, it does make a difference to how you feel in yourself seeing that yellow orb in a pretty blue sky. These day's have been quite rare her lately, so I'm making the most of it.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I probably won't do another new post until next Thursday is done & dusted.

Thank you all again for all the fantastic support you give me in so many ways. Thank you so much X

Lots & love & hugs

Here Goes!

I really hope you'll forgive me doing a second showing of this card.

Claire's Birthday Card

Good Morning Friends

It's 1.00 am in the morning and still wide awake, that's only because I fell asleep in my workroom at about 11pm with half pint on my lap, so I still have a lot to do on Claire's card so I'd better get on with it. I really meant to finish Claire's card and go to bed early. When I woke I opened the door to the lounge,  the bedroom door was wide open and Half pint took a run for it, she loves going to bed. Who wouldn't when you get the biggest part of the bed even though you are knee high to a grass hopper,so I know that she is happy and tucked up in bed and I will get what is left between her and Paul when I eventually get some slumber.

This is the 1st really flowery card I have enjoyed making for a while, and I really hope Claire likes it. Claire, Half Pint & myself are going out for lunch to a pub that has a river running along side, and said we would have a little walk after lunch. It can't be a long walk as Half Pint's Little legs don't do long walks. Paul is going to try and make it in between work to have lunch with us which will be lovely if he can make it. I haven't told Claire so it will be a lovely surprise if he arrives some time through the meal.

Craig can't make lunch so he is going to go over to Claire's late afternoon to give her pressie's  and give  her little bro hugs.

Only My sister's card to go and that's Feb done & dusted. It took a bit longer to make Claire's card today as I didn't have any green card that would do for the leaves so I had to colour some card  with a stamping up ink pad and also coloured the ribbon with the same ink as the roses. I Really enjoyed seeing my workroom in an uproar for a good reason. I hope you like the card.

Went to my appointment on Monday. I have to have another Hysteroscopy, biopsy a smear and another coil plus another procedure that she said would be conclusive. She did ask how I would feel to have a Hysterectomy and I said I'll leave that up to you as you'll know if I need one or not. While making Claire's card today I had a call from the hospital, and I go in on Thursday next week.

See you all soon, and thank you for returning each time, I can't say how much it means to me.

Here goes!!

Well that's it folks, I'm off to bed it is now stupid o'clock and I need all the beauty sleep nature will allow, and to be at my best for my Claire Bear.

See you soon.

Love & massive Hugs

Paul's Birthday card

Hi my Friends

Thank you all for your lovely comments about my boy's card and the bed sit room. It is bigger than it looks on line. Paul has said if we fall out he'd be more than happy to move in there. (Don't tempt me), only joking, we've got more work to do this side of the house now!

Here is Paul's B'day card as promised. I really didn't know what to do, so looked out some old stamps and some fairly new embossing folders and just played. I even put glitter on the card and when I'd finished I thought what are you thinking about It's a man card. I hope I toned it down enough, only time will tell. Lets hope he will be in touch with his feminine side, but I think he knows me very well that I like a bit of sparkle and I think we all need that in our lives.

I have my six month check with the hospital on Monday. I'm a bit worried as things are still not right. I thought the coil was meant to sort things out, but mine has been worse every day, no let up. I will be glad when Monday is done and dusted and a decision is made.

We have the cutest little kitten that has decided to come around at stupid time of the day and night. He is so handsome. I take it he's a boy as for the first few day it came around with a sparkly pink collar, then a week later it came around with a sparkly black collar. We know he belongs to some one but it was out in the most coldest nights we have had. My sister is just as soft with animals as I am and because the kitten slept under the caravan. She opened the caravan door to turn the outside light off only to knock the kitty off the door step. She took it in and fed him, she didn't have the heart to put him out as it was so cold our fish pond had frozen over. He domes back everyday 4 times a day for food either from me or Chick. I know this kitty has a collar so he belongs to some one, and I don't encourage it to come around but it's very hard to turn him away when he is crying at your door. I know I wouldn't like it if some one did that to my kitty, but U wouldn't let my kitty out in such horrendous weather. Hey Ho, I'm sure it will all turn out right.

I have been working on Claire's card today for next Thursday, so no pressure. Then finally my sister's card 2 day's later. I have to say I have really enjoyed card making again and I really hope it carries on after the February's B'days.

Right Here Goes!!

OMG, what button have I pressed for the text to turn out like this, Hey Ho! I hope you like Paul's card.

Hope to see you all her for Claire's card. Thank you all again for still being here for us/me it really does mean so much.

Love & big hugs

What we've been up to this past month

Hello my friends

Long time no talk. We have been quite busy here this past month converting Claire's bedroom into a self contained bedsit for my sister. We hope to have it completely finished in a month or so. We have replaced a window and put in french doors and little kitchen with solid oak surface. We are doing a new shower room for me & Paul and we are putting a brand new bath/shower suite in the old bathroom for Chicky (my sister). When all the work is finished we will put up a stud wall in the inner hall, this will then give us our privacy back again as for the past year Chick has been living in our caravan and although it has a shower we thought it would be easier for her to shower and do laundry in the house. We also have her bird in the house so she has had to come across the house to clean & feed pansy. You are probably reading this and thinking I am heartless not letting my sister move into the house but, I like my house as it is and my sister has a way of rearranging things and can make things a little difficult. This new arrangement should be temporary and when she has some money behind her she will look for a place of her own. She wants to furnish the room herself so that she can take it with her when she leaves. I've put a few pictures up to show you the progress so far. So just waiting for the plumber to do his bit with the sink and the the bathrooms, get the carpet cleaned and then fingers crossed life can get back to some kind of normality. What ever that is!!

Also I have made Craig's B'day card. It's his birthday today 4th Feb but we are all celebrating it tomorrow (Sunday) 5th. He's asked for his favorite, Lasagne, with a side salad and cake. Claire & Toby are coming too, so it will be a lovely get together. I have another card to make for Paul for the 11th Feb, one for Claire for the 16th Feb and one for my sister Chicky on the 18th. If I get around to making them all I will post them here if you like. Here's Craig's anyway. Not 100% pleased with it, I am just brain dead for design at the moment, especially for man cards. When I had finished Craig's card I found the Burgundy layer that should have been added, WHOOPS, never mind there's always next year or for Paul's!!

Here Goes!

I hope he likes it. I know he'll like whats inside though.

Claire is getting very anxious as this is yet another 1st milestone for her with her birthday, then the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March. We will be very reflective at this time and I dare say tears will be had by all of us. Claire & Toby have decided to go away for a break, as we all feel they need some time away and just spend some quality time together away from all the memories.

Thank you all for your comments on my last blog, and for checking to see I'm OK. I must get back into answering you all again. I promise I will this time.

Thank you all for being here for us as a family. Lots of love and mega big hugs to you all.
