Happy Mothers Day

To all the lovely mums out there, whether it's to our children or to our adorable pets. I'm sure the words on the card will be said many times over today. I wish each and every one of you a very Happy Mothers Day, and if you are lucky enough put your feet up and be waited on. Enjoy!! Insist on your grapes being peeled. ( I wish )!!.

    1. Hi Jane

Thank you, I hope you have a lovey day too. Yes these are some of the roses I made on Badger night. I did make all the roses for a project for CE, but about 9 O'clock I thought i would make all you lovely mums out there this card. It just goes to show if you have everything made you can knock up a card pretty fast. Although it still took a few hours, that's quick for me. I didn't post it till early hours as I was watching the badger again. It's so addictive.

  5. Hi Margaret

I have had a lovely day with Claire Toby Craig and Hannah I had a lovely meal cooked by them and lots of laugh around the table and silliness. Claire and Toby have gone home now, but Craig and Hannah decided to stay the night. How lucky am I.

Have you had a good day too,?

Thank you for the lovely things you say about my cards, I would love to make one a day, but really don't get the time. As Claire would say as a teacher, must try harder!! ( only in a nice way ).

    Take care Margaret, talk soon

  6. Hi Tina

What a lovely thought, thank you, and what a top notch Tina card. My fur baby had a full night of snuggling up with his mum last night- we both fell asleep about 7:30pm and woke up about 3am!!! It was then a dash around getting Billy out for his night time garden break, meds, Billys bedtime "toothy stick", write shopping list for Mr W to take with him in the morning and in my bed about 5:30am. Today wasn't too restful with an emergency trip to the optician as my new dark glasses had a leak! All sorted and home to a lovely meal cooked by Mr W while I got the new printer working (I'm the techhie in this house!) I got to swap texts with my mum and we'll do a belated mothers day when us and my nanna can meet up for lunch. I'm no finally catching up with some blogs before I go sleep- in my own bed without the dog on me!

With very best wishes to you and your family, sounds like you had a really nice day.

    1. Hi T

Thank you I did really enjoy my day, only one thing I still got up to the washing up this morning, Hey Ho!!. Craig is still here with me now, his car had to go to the garage in Salisbury, so he's working from home at the moment. I have just got back from the wholesalers, because if I get the chance I like to send them home with lots of goodies. I'm dreading that call from the garage to say his car is ready as that means he will go back down to Bournemouth. It has not been a year yet since he moved out, but I really miss having young people around the house.

I have to say sorry to you and Rose as I am usually a night owl too, but I think having a lazy day and some of Mother's ruin I had an early ish night. Not that it did me any good as Bubble had sneaked in the bedroom and just as I was dozing she jumped up and she head butts my arm until you make a fuss when she has had enough she'll head butt my legs to make me move over so that she can lay against my back.

What a lovely long sleep you had with Billy, did he take most of the bed? what breed is Billy?. My goodness what time did you get up later that day, if you are like me and go to bed early hours even if I have fallen asleep in my workroom, I still want a few more hours sleep so that it feels I have woken up at a decent hour of the day. Psychological with me I think!!

I too wear prescription dark glasses, mine are for distance but also my eyes are very sensitive to light. I still get funny looks when I wear them in the rain and especially in shops with all that harsh lighting. I don't wear them quite so much around at home unless it's really bright. We very rarely use ceiling lights, it's all low lighting, but yours sound a lot more serious. I hope you got them sorted. I hope you get your Mothers Day get together soon.

  8. Hi Tina,
yep, it's the nightowl speaking. Your card is gorgeous and the roses look as if they're made from porcellain. Wish mine would look like that but alas, I have to practice a lot more until I get them to that standard. Stunning! Is that Caribbean and Scandinavian dies mixed? I love Sue's dies, she's so elegant and it comes through in her designs don't you think?
I remember Berkeley having to be released from suffering and the great distress this caused you and your family. I could sympathise with you because I know how it feels - like your heart will never stop hurting! But I hadn't reckoned with your fairly large feline family (A grand old lady, young lady and two kids - the "kids" are lovely). I shall have to go through your blog to find Summer and Moet, posh name that! Fully agree with you on indoor cats - if they are happy inside then that's ok, too.
I've written all this once before but then wondered how to send photos when the time comes where I go "TARAAA - here they are - kitties". Was wondering what it would be like if I joined Google+ etc and got myself in a knot. Somehow deleted all my comment. So I'll make sure not to "go wandering" again this time. Do you know how Google+ works?
I hope you had a lovely Mother's day and got a bit spoilt at least even if you didn't insist on getting the grapes peeled LOL. I'd like to send you the odd card I've made but other than send them to an email address won't know how to go about it.
I wonder have you had your supper guest call round since he polished off all the cat food and nuts and got "caught in the act"?
That's it for now, happy crafting and thanks for all the inspiration you give folk.
    Hugs, Rose

    1. Hi Night Owl

Like I said to Wheely Bad, I'm sorry that I didn't answer you early this morning. I had a day of being spoilt not lifting a finger, and that made me feel tired and had an early ish night. I must literally missed both your messages by minutes.

Your spot on with the dies I used, and I agree Sue's dies wipe every other make out of the window.

I still miss Berkeley so much, I think it was hard for me as Paul couldn't make the decision, I rang the vet and spoke to Sandra and she said Berkeley is in no pain and said to me you knowing Berkeley as you do you'll know when to say goodbye. 3 day's later I made that choice, she had no quality of life I had to lift her out of her basket every 20 mins and replace her soiled bedding but she couldn't stand, she couldn't see or hear me. she went like that with in 3 days. One of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, and I still feel bad that I had to do it. Sandra was Lovely she came to our home and stayed with me till I was happy I was OK. I agree it's heart breaking I still miss her so much, but would like to rescue another dog. When I went to the Blue Cross everyday to get to know Bubble & Squeak before I could bring them home as they were poorly, so I used to go and sit with them for hours so that we could get used to each other as they came from a semi feral mum, They are now 2 of the soppiest spoilt little furs balls.

Moet was our 30th anniversary present, she was born pure white and we were going to call her pearl, but after a few weeks she changed to a champagne colour so we called her Moet to celebrate our anniversary, she is now a huge light ginger and definitely the boss. I will go back and look out some photo's of Summer and Mo for you, I'll post them soon. Blooming computers, I'm not that clever with them either, I've only learned what I need to post my pictures and my blog and that was with help from Craig and Paul. Even with being on the CE DT, they use different software to me and I have had to call on Craig for help. it does make life more complicated , I have to write a step by step project and photo every single step for Creative Expression magazine once every couple of months.

I had a lovely Mothers Day, Thank you, and yes my supper gueat has been back every night since. I consider myself very lucky.

      Talk again soon Take care

    2. Hi Tina, it is very good to hear you had a day of being pampered, I am sure you more than deserved it. I'm going to have an early night myself, the plan is to be in bed no later than 0100 hrs as I have to get up earlyish, the stuff from out of the old wardrobes won't move itself to the new, super-duper ones. And I have to finish a card off by tomorrow pm - the problem was that I was going to be so very clever and using strips from the Californian background, make a bargello background in three colours. Only trouble was that I forgot the middle bit of the process, so I kept on wondering why the devil my background didn't look like anything on the card that Sue made some time ago. (It's only now that I remember where I've gone wrong, thank God we crafters can make it appear intentional when we've finished!) Should be interesting..............
My heart goes out to you, the despairing time you must have had when Berkeley was coming towards the end of her life. I swear Katinka was telling me that she was coming towards the end of her life. She has always been one for lots of cuddles (all my cats have been, bless them) and towards the end she didn't nuzzle any more, just stayed very still and tucked her head into my neck. And then it's true, they let you know when it's time to go - she would have hated soiling herself and for two days I, too, carried her to her litter tray/water bowl (she wouldn't eat by then at all). So in the end I had to take her, a very good friend (also an animal lover) took me in her car and went in with me. I still cry now when I think of it, but am concentrating on the positives in my life of which there are many.
And I am a sort of believer that everything in life happens as it should and when the time is right you'll give another rescue dog a little bit of paradise I'm sure. Where will s/he fit into the feline hierarchy I wonder...
I envy you your dapper supper guest, what a privilege...........
Computers certainly broaden our horizons/opportunities but sometimes they are a pain!! I bet you said a few words when you first wrestled with the software CE are using........... I don't think I could come up with all new ideas every time if I were on any DT, especially if I got stamps or dies which I weren't too keen on.........
Okay now, it's pumpkin time............. I'm off to my bed, we'll speak again soon, looking forward to it.
      Hugs, Rose

  9. Hi Tina,
I'm sorry for myself because I didn't get on your blog yesterday to see this beautiful card. And the flowers - oh the flowers - that's my aim in life, to get them looking so gorgeous and life-like.
I'm glad you had a lovely Mother's Day, and as for grapes, I always insist on the Butler peeling them for me, before he irons the newspaper.

    1. Hi Maureen

Thank you so much, I'm glad you likes the flowers, I do tend to spend a long time on them, and if they are not right they go in the bin. Paul says I'm too finicky.

I did have a lovely day, Thank you,

I only order a naked butler on special occasions, and I know what you mean about the creases, not in the butler though. One simply can't stand creases in one's Beano..Haven't progressed to newspapers yet, still looking at the pictures.

Thank you, you made me giggle
