Cheers & Bon Appetit

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope Santa gave you everything you wanted, or wished for, and hope your wish wasn't too big to be accommodated. There's always Birthday's, Easter, Mothers day etc to look forward to if they were just a tad too expensive.

I did get my Platinum machine, but unfortunately it has to back. I have to be the unluckiest person when it comes to die cutting machines. When I couldn't even use the handle to get it out of the box and onto my desk I thought " this doesn't look good!" The handle wouldn't move unless you used a spoon to force it up. Once up, the handle was lopsided. I then got one of my dies that I use regularly, Les Papillions Two, 5 passes in the middle later and it still didn't cut totally, so I tried some of Sue's leaves that I use often, 2 passes in the middle and they didn't cut either, so I gave up, packed it up and I will call the shop when they open again on the 4th. So no fun playtime for me with my new machine for a while. It does put me off of getting another one, what do you think?

Anyway onto a lighter note we went to a Panto on Monday afternoon. It was Alladin, at the Mayflower Theatre and Joe Pasquale played Wishee Washee. Well!, I can't remember a time I have laughed so much at slapstick humor, good job I took tissues. There were 9 of us, but only one child of twelve, Oh and one very pregnant daughter that totally threw herself into joining in.

I hope you don't think I have cheated for this weeks blog, but like everyone over the festive time It's been so hectic here , so I looked for some items I had made previous and had stored in my stash box, and I  incorporated them with a die of Sue's I had been sent, and this is what I came up with, There's a festive one and 2 summery ones . I hope you are not too disappointed that it's not a card. When I sent my project to Creative Expressions they said they would like to see me to make more of this, and that it doesn't always have to be cards, again what do you think?

I think you  have all been wonderful visiting my blog this year and leaving such lovely and encouraging comments, and I hope you will visit in 2016 too. So I would like this opportunity to say a big heartfelt Thank you to you all, and I know I have lots to share with you all next year!

A BIG HAPPY & HEALTHY 2016 EVERYONE.   I WILL RAISE A GLASS TO EACH & EVERYONE OF YOU AT MIDNIGHT THURS/FRIDAY.      THANK YOU AGAIN!

Did You have a good Christmas with your children?

I know Jane, I am a bit spoilt, I felt more sorry for Paul than the fact the machine was duff! The Panto was so enjoyable.

Thank you Jane, I will give a lantern a go soon.

Paul & I wish you lots of love health & happiness in 2016, and maybe next time you are over here we can meet up again. 9 Weeks to go for both of us YAY!!

  5. Good morning Tina,
Flower i enjoy whatever you put up as they are always so special looking and so different. I love todays offerings and wasn't it kind of Sue to make napkin ring dies for us to decorate our table (well that is what i thought the buckle dies were when she showed them, doh! but that could be because i had my Homer Simpson brain engaged at the time, lol). I love your various decorations to just finish off an extra special table or gift.
Tina flower just wait until this wee one comes you will not know how you ever did without them, talking with 6 months experience as a Granny, it is the most wonderful thing but watch they seem to grow quicker than they did when we had their parent.
Going to the pantomine is something i have always loved although Kirsten did go through 4 -5 years of being too old but is now back to being a big kid again like the rest of us. There is nothing like the good old fashioned humour of a pantomine to bring a family together in enjoyment and fun, although just as well you took pregnant daughter the now and not a few weeks further on as you might have been saying hello to your grandchild sooner than you all imagained. I got 2 free tickets to go to the MacRobert theatre at Stirling University and went with my friends and my Rory who laughed and better laughed. Rory although being 16 has never grown out of the Panto's like Kirsten did but i don't know if it has something to do with being autistic, in any way we all had a wonderful night seeing The Little Mermaid. THe fella that writes it forgot his lines(he was the dame) in places but it just added to the fun as he said "aye, and i only wrote them" and the rest of the cast tried to prompt him and finally said them theirselves to which he would say "hey that was my line". He is a Glaswegian to start off with and no amount of acting can cover that fact up. Unlike the Edinburgh people who are much more refined and upper class, the Glaswegians know that they are just working class people and never forget it and play up to their sense of humour that they have.
Have a great time in the CE team again this year Tina as your work deserves to be seen by more and your talent deserves that chance. Have a great New Year flower,
    love and crafty hugs

    1. Hi Norah

Long time no see, how the devil are you, well I hope? I can't believe your grandchild is 6 months already. Where has that time gone!

Isn't it funny that we have never grown up, but our kids have, and when they have little ones they revert back down to our age group again. I'm looking forward to becoming a Grandma big time.

I'm so glad Rory had a lovely time watching the Little Mermaid panto, I think there is no age limit for Panto's as I was screaming at one time wearing the 3d glasses. I loved it when they fudged their lines it made us laugh even more.

Thank you Norah for all your lovely comments, I think I am only with CE till February but will still continue my blog and would love to see you again, but know you have such a busy life.

Lots of love happiness & health to you all in 2016

I love what you have made - they are all lovely. I have to confess I haven't used the buckle die yet but I have plans for it - which may or may not work!!
I'm so sorry about your Platinum!! How disappointing - I'm thrilled with mine and I know others who are too. I hope you get a new one and that it works like a dream instead of a nightmare!!

I'm going to ask for another machine and not for this one to be fixed, as I would never feel happy with it. I'm sure I just had a one off!

  11. Oh dear! shame about your machine Tina. I had a similar problem with an electric die cutter, a really well known brand. It kept getting stuck part way through the machine and when it did feed OK it wasn't cutting very well. I returned it and now have a Big Shot Express which I am totally happy with. Love your handiwork today, what a lovely table display! Pat x

    1. Hi Pat

I too had 2 electronic machines. One being an ebosser that the plates were stuck midway. I called the shop I had purchased it from and was told to take a mallet to it, but not told it had to be the size of one of the plates, so that was the end of that one. Replaced it with the Cut n Boss which is great, but really doesn't cut in the middle, still good though. Hence wanting to buy the Platinum as it was said to cut in the middle of the plates. So fingers crossed I don't have too much of a fight on my hands with the seller of the Platinum and will soon be enjoying die cutting heaven along side all the other Platinum lovers.

Glad you liked my work this week Pat

Stunning. Doesn't have to be a card, 'cos no one does flowers like you! I've used my dies a lot "off the card"... just imagine some of those wedding-y type things, table settings, corsages even a bouquet and of course, napkin rings- I thought the buckle die was a napkin ring too.

Sorry it's short love, not in a good way. Happy new year to you and your family,

Fabulous offering today. I love it as much as I love your cards. More please.
Ahh the Panto - can't beat it and I still enjoy it just as much at the grand old age of ahem ahem, as I did when I went as a child with my mam and brother. We were her excuse for going as she would shriek with laughter and join in the "he's behind you" with the rest of them.
