Embossing Tutorial

Good Friday Morning Everyone. I hope you are all well.

Here is my way to get my mat & layers to line up. I hope it makes sense.

Here Goes!

Look at all the items used. So many!.

Cut Your 1st layer of card to required size, and place in the embossing folder and make a line to one side with a pencil. Then pass through the machine.
  • Once embossed, decide how much smaller you would like your next layer to be

Then lay your next layer on top of the first layer and mark again. Remove the 1st embossed layer and pass through the machine.

If you then place both layers together you should have a perfect match

Even when you have put your mat & layers together they will still line up. I hope this makes sense. I think I should have used coloured card. If you want me to do this again just say.

  10. Hello Tina,
This is genius, I think I'd have to do the same width and then trim off the same amount from each side of the 2nd piece of card to match the pattern. I'll be having a go at this later today (if I get the chance!) Thank you.

This is a genius idea! Thank yo so much. I will be trying that later.
It has started to rain here after a bright, promising start to the day. Very chilly too.

Some weeks are like that Myra, take care of yourself and put your feet up in the evening (if you can). Thank you Myra really pleased you liked the tutorial.

We are having the same type of day here in Wiltshire weather wise. Would be nice to have a couple of sunny days together, roll on Spring. You have a good restful weekend.

  13. Hi chick.
Another way to make sure the embossing lines up is cut mats to which size you want them and providing the card isn't too thick place the card layers into the folder how they will be placed on your card and run it through your machine, the pattern on the folder will automatically line up. I only found this out today by a sheer fluke !!
Hope you have a great weekend and that Claire is resting more in prep for all the happy but hard work she will go through soon xxx

  17. Hi Tina

Absolute genius! Am going to try both this way and Steph's method of both sheets together. It's good to know both ways as I'm guessing some cardstocks will suit one way better than another. Thanks for sharing this tip with us and thank you Steph for sharing your way too.

  19. Hi Tina. WOW !!! Thanks for this great tutorial as it finally makes sense to me !!! It takes an awful lot for instructions to go into my brain and stay there !!! I do love this background EF folder. I would have thought about getting it but the more I buy right now, the less money I will have for Alley Palley so I am trying to save my pennies !!! I have other folders I can use instead. I am really looking forward to Alley Palley. Sending lots of love to you Tina from Tres x x x

  20. Hey Tina.
You know that 'fluke' lining up the folder ? Well tried it again today with my rose folder that came with the e-bosser and guess what - it wasn't a first time fluke, it worked again ! I cut my mats and layers x3 lay them out inside the folder and ran them all through, perfect again, so even if you are in the middle of sticking them down and you are interrupted its so easy to line then all up by the pattern. I had to mention it as if it saves you time measuring during this busy time then it gives you more time to fit something else in like making those amazing flowers you do so beautifully. Hope you get the chance to give it a go. Counting down the days now grandma to be... woohoo 😊 xx
