Let Your Dreams Fly

Good Tuesday morning everyone,  a gentle pinch & a punch,1st of the month to all.

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday and the blessed weather was kind to you all. We managed to go to a neighbours Bar B Q on Sunday. We live down an unmade lane and you really don't see anyone unless you pass them when driving in and out of the lane. Apparently this family do a big family and friends Bar B every year, but decided to extend it to the neighbours. We have lived here for 16yrs and I have only spoken to him twice, We wave when we see each other but because of the distant between the houses it's to far to shout, and had never met his wife. Paul has spoken to both of them when we had our dog Berkeley and met them when walking down the lane, so Paul said we really should take them up on their offer to party. Our immediate neighbours who we absolutely adore and are more like family went with us and we all had a fantastic afternoon/evening and got on really well. What a fantastic couple and such lovely people. We came away knowing 5 other couples down the lane, one is a retired preacher, so I was on my best behavior. Well until he left. I don't think it was that dirty joke that made him leave, it was a hum dinger. ( not really )!! He was a lovely gentle spoken man and his wife was equally as lovely.  I hope what ever you got up to at the weekend you enjoyed yourselves.

Here goes with the 1st, post Christmas card.

Here goes for a 2nd time. I went on my blog to see if it had published at 00.01am, and instead I deleted it, Don't ask me how! It's magic. So I am sat here still at 02.00am doing a new blog. Good job I love what I do! So to all you other night owls, "HI", Good Morning.

I did my usual 1st mat & layer of white, silver and pink and the 2nd layer I used the same but the top layer of pink paper was the patterned side. I used perfect medium and stamped over some of the butterfly images and embossed with CE silver embossing powder. I used sticky pads to layer both mats for dimension. For the focal I used the noble die, I then stuck it yo a sticky sheet, cut off the excess and peeled off the backing to the sticky sheet and attached it to some acetate, again I cut off the excess and to the front I added glacier ice glitter. I kept the middle of the noble die and stamped the sentiment. I cut 2 corner died from the elegant lace and attached either side of the square to extend the sentiment. I attached sticky pads to each layer for added dimension. I made some flowers with the peony dies and leaves from the camellia die set. I arranged them around the focal point with a piece of tuille and a happy accident I had some very thin pieces of the pink paper that I was going to throw in the away, I folded it in half to fit the bin and thought that would male a nice effect behind the flowers. I cut 3 larger butterflies and several tiny ones, all were glittered. I glued the little ones to the silver embossed butterflies and one to the sentiment, and the 3 larger ones to the bottom right side of the card.

Big Hugs to all :-)

  4. Morning Tina.
I'm speechless. This is just gorgeous and just what we expect when we open your blog. You never disappoint us as every card you show is just breathtakingly beautiful. You are Queen of flowers and the way you mould and model your flower dies sometimes it's hard to see which you have used as you have the talent to change them beautifully beyond recognition, if you didn't list the dies used I wouldn't have guessed it was Sue's Peony !
Glad you had a lovely time with your new friends and neighbours Sunday. Our Lancashire bank holiday weather was grey damp and miserable but a great reason for me to stay in the warm and start to make a few more gift bags ready for market. Just had a bit of a panic though, if I'm going to be ready in plenty of time for the early Christmas
shoppers at market I should be thinking of festive cards and bags !!! Oh help !! Lol.

Well Tina, thanks for another amazing card it really is stunning.

  8. Hi Tina,
you really went to town with the girlie theme didn't you? Lovely card but it's a bit too pink for me. However, your flowers are exquisite, as always. I don't know how you get them like that - mine don't look anywhere close as good. And your butterflies are out in force, too. Altogether LOVELY.
Told you you would enjoy the BBQ, one should always get to know them - you never know when you need their help. And let's face it, the majority of people on this planet are really nice (thank God) .
Here in Chester it's April weather! I'm saying no more but if some of my azalea cuttings have actually rooted, it'll be a minor miracle.

  9. Hi Tina,
We are a bit like you - our neighbours are all the way along a twisty road. The houses are only on one side and most people drive in and out except the dog walkers! My husband knows more of them than I do as they stop to talk to him about his roses! It's lovely to meet up once in a while though and I'm glad you had a lovely BBQ . It's coming down in sheets here this morning! Not all the time but I wouldn't like to be caught out in it.
I love your card today - love how you have used the little butterflies and the big ones. Your flowers are always gorgeous . It's nice to see Phill Martins papers too - they look very nice indeed. I like it all!

  10. Hi Tina. WOW This is a stunning card. Love everything about it. The colour's are beautiful as well as the layout. Just wish I could get my flower's to look like yours and I see you have used my favourite embellishment's, butterflies I always think they look so pretty on cards and put a smile on peoples faces. So glad you had a chance to meet your neighbours and had a great time. Our weather in Co/Durham was rubbish it was dark, cold and the usual rain for a Bank Holiday so it give me time to do some of my sons wedding invites 65 made just another 45 to go. then its on to my Christmas cards and you have given me some great ideas.

How lovely to have been invited to the Bar b and then making more friends, so pleased it turned out to be a wonderful occasion in the end.
The weekend passed quickly for me, it was Nikki's Saturday to visit me and I had decorated a white wicker heart for her to hang in her room and she was delighted with it. then on Sunday as my back was holding up pretty well my friend and I went to a craft show. After arriving home I watched the Red Arrows fly over where I live as there was an Air Show just down the road....and amazing sight and wonderful displays!

I would love to see the heart you made for Nikki, could you please tell me again to get to your site I have tried but get every sheila except for you. I am so pleased Nikki loved it. I'm not surprised as your work is so beautiful.

Wow, it's beautiful. The sort of pink and girly I like (I'm very selective when it comes to pink and girly), quite dreamy and feminine. Definitely a Tina card and definitely the Queen of flowers!

Had rain most of the weekend here in almost the (lol) driest (lol) part of the country (lol). Alex's birthday Saturday so we went out for a meal in the evening. I had already been out to have my eyes tested that day so it was a bit much. Been asleep most of the time since and still yawning! Gutted I had to buy him a card as was not up to making one. But at least I found something he liked. Was lovely evening regardless of how knackered it made me- worth it :-) Must go, Mr W has made sweet chilli salmon salad for tea x

Oh T, sounds like you had a busy weekend of do those things that seem like a chore, like getting your tested, and going out for a meal too. I feel I like to do one or the other, to go out twice in one day with hours apart I find tiring too. It's ok if you do the optician and a meal directly afterwards I can cope with, so I know how you feel. I don't always get around to making my hubby a card either. He tries to make me feel bad, but it never works. Look after yourself T, and I hope you enjoyed your chilli salmon, sounds scrummy.

  22. Hi Tina. Oh WOW, WOW, WOW !! This card is gorgeous !! I love it all !! I am not really a "pink" person but I really do love to this one. I think using the Noble squares die like you have and putting some glittered acetate behind it is a very pretty way to show off the next layer underneath. I had never thought to use glittery acetate as a layer before but it is such a lovely idea while still being a bit see through to. I think it makes your card look very girly and dreamy. As always Tina, I absolutely LOVE your gorgeous flowers !! I would never have guessed that they are Sue's Peony dies. You always make your flowers look so different. I think this is a real talent of yours !! You are definately the Queen of making beautiful flowers. I am hoping to go to Alley Palley in September this year (I just can't wait) and the Peony flower dies and Sue's new shape Noble Dies are top of my wish list. I just cannot wait to get my hands on those beautiful flower dies. I love the sentiment you have used. It is nice to have something other than Happy Birthday or the other usual sentiments that we all use. Fab little butterflies too !! I know how much you love using them on your cards. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card Tina.
I am so pleased you had a great time at the barbeque. It sounds like you have some lovely neighbours. You are very lucky. We had a lovely day on the Sunday. We went to my Dads favourite pub to see a live jazz band playing. We don't really go to the pub as neither myself or my fiancé drink. It was for the first time and they had a little barbeque to. It was a really good afternoon sitting in the pub garden. They only play once a year and I think we will definitely go again next year now. Everyone was so friendly. Well take care of yourself Tina. The only person I have ever met from Sue Wilson's blog is Sue herself !! She is a wonderful lady. I probably should not have used the word fiancé really. Technically Steve is my fiancé but we have been a couple now for almost 11 years next month !! I am still waiting to get married !! Illness and money problems have stopped us from getting married. We are finally, at long last starting to save our pennies for our "big day" but it will probably still be a while yet. I really hope to meet you if you still want to Tina. I'm sorry I'm so late date wise and time wise, but I've been having a busy time lately.
Your card is so very beautiful. It begs to be put into a box frame so that people could admire it - I love it.
I live in a big city and we moved to this house 35 years ago. I would say that we know at least 75% of the people. Even the ones at the very top of the street and the bottom (we are in the middle!). If I'm in the front garden and people walk by, they usually speak, and if they don't - I do. If I cannot open a jar, or a bottle of bleach, I go to the front door and ask the first man or boy who walks past!! I have found that people are always friendly if you smile and speak.
Mind you, I am surprised that you told the retired preacher a dirty joke!!!!
