Another Mobile Card

Good Tuesday morning everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I had a really special weekend. We celebrated my Huh Hum! birthday on Thursday with a lovely massive Chinese take away, sharing it with Craig, Hannah ( Craig's girlfriend ), my sister Chicky and Paul. Unfortunately Claire & Toby couldn't make it as Claire had end of term parents night all week and it was too late for her to travel over to us, and she was soooo tired to boot. On Friday evening when Claire got home from work she rang and said to get my glad rags on for Saturday as She and Craig were going to take me out for lunch to a country pub of my choice. So I asked if we could go to The High Corner Inn. It's right in the heart of the new forest, and the Pub is nestled in a woodlands. There was an inglenook fire burning, and beams and uneven floors, it's just stunning. There were 6 of us. Claire Toby, Craig Hannah & Paul and myself. Lunch was booked for 1pm and we left 5.15pm, what a fantastic meal and it was just so lovely to spend some quality time together without having to tidy up afterwards. I've put some pictures up after this week's card hope you enjoy them.

Oh! just a little bit of gossip, we are going back to Christmas for next month, one last push. So will have to get my Christmas brain in gear again. How lovely to get 3 Christmas's in one year!

Can I please ask if you will forgive me for not putting a tutorial on today as I said I would, but it will definitely be on my blog on Thursday. It has been so manic, Sorry! too much celebrating. I will make the flower tutorial today (Tuesday) and post it on Thursday. Promise!

Here goes!

Products used:-

Creative Expressions- Foundation card- Black, Coconut white, green & Vintage Silver
Creative Expressions- White Ice
Creative Expressions- Iced Snow
Craft Consortium- Bloom Beautiful- 12x12 papers
Tim Holtz- Distress Ink- Spun Sugar & Dusty Concord
Spellbinders- Les Papillions Two
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Classic Rose
Sue Wilson- Festive Collection-Pine Bough
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Camellia- Complete Petals
Sue Wilson- Striplet- Eternal Rings
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches-
Sue Wilson- Embossing Folder- Wild Roses

How To make:-

I Started with an 8x8 black card, and place the oblong die that came with the Eternal Rings Striplet die on the edge of the card, about 1/2 inch from the edge but that is entirely up to you. When that had been cut out I then used the Wild Roses embossing folder to emboss the front of the card. I then made a mat & layer of the Silver Vintage card and the papers from Bloom Beautiful collection. I covered the top of the paper wit a sticky sheet and then covered with Iced Snow..I made several roses from the Classic Rose & Camellia complete petals dies, hand coloured and arranged into a little display in the corner. The mobile was made by cutting 3x of the Eternal Rings Striplet die and folding each one in half. Then glue the back side of each fold to create a 3 sided mobile. Poke a piece of cotton with glue into the top of the centre of the mobile and set aside to dry. Make a rose leaves and twigs for each trellis and glue where you like, just make sure you cover the glue in each trellis with a leaf so that you can't see the 3D glue holding the rose in place. When totally dry glue the trellis into the middle of the open frame and hide the cotton with a butterfly or a flower or anything else you come up with. I hope this helps. enjoy. Any problems you know where I am.

The photo's are in reverse order. We had a little shower as we were finishing our meal, but as we were driving home the clouds were breaking and we had a spectacular sunset. We stopped to take some pictures of  some of our beautiful animals that roam our forest, and the pictures that follow are of the pub where we had our meal. When you see the sign for the pub, on a very flat part of the forest, you wouldn't think that there is anything but heathers and animals. Then you drive down the unmade lane opposite the sign, and it opens up to this beautiful place to eat with the new forest pony's walking around. Every time I go shopping I make a point of driving home through the forest where there are normally pigs, sheep, pony's, cow's, bull's and donkeys just standing in the roads. It makes the drive home longer because you have to wait for them to decide which side of the road they prefer, but it is so worth it.

I hope you enjoyed the little roam around the forest on my birthday treat.

See you here Thursday for tutorial, if not, I'll see you next Tuesday. Take care and have a good week everyone.

Big Hugs

    1. Hi June

Thank you for my birthday wishes June, and I agree we do have a lovely country I don't think I would like to live any where else. If I did I would have to come back home eventually, anyway that's not going to happen. Glad you like the card too and that you are going to give it a go, it really is simple. I forgot to do a write up about it, so It will be written later today.

    1. Hi Elaine

Thank you Elaine. The Inn is so quaint inside and the food was Scrummy. I had a spicy Fish cake with lemon hollandaise sauce with capers, then Beer battered cod & chips with minted peas. The fish was enormous so I wrapped 1/2 up in serviettes and bought it home for my dear old Summer. She loved it as much as I did, and to finish I had treacle sponge with ice cream. Mmmmm!

  3. Oh WOW Tina. Both your card and photos are so magical. Where on earth did you get the idea from former this card ? In fact where do you get your ideas from full stop ? It's so clever. I'd love a quick breakdown on how you achieved the window and striplet insert, nothing grand as you have already said you will do a floral tutorial, either that or maybe email me (it depends if anyone else wants to know how you did it )
I'm so glad you had two lovely birthday treats, what happened to the joint birthday party with your neighbour ? Is a big ole knees up planned for the weekend by any chance lol. I have to say that Andy will be very envious when I tell him about your amazing route home from your shopping trips, how amazing to be in a position to see that afternoon battling the shops, if that's isn't an incentive to go out then I don't know what is !!! Well had the most wonderful weekend away in the New Forest some years ago, miles of relaxing views, miles of empty roads and an abundance of heather and the ponies - well, absolutely beautiful to see them roaming free, then you get the raving lunatics that decide the speed limit and beware signs arn't meant for them, and all your hear then is motorbikes roaring along the roads ahead, and idiotic boys racers thinking it's clever to take the tight bends at 50mph (I won't repeat what we were chuntering under our breath) !!! But one day we must return, how is another matter as now we are up North its such a hell of a drive unfortunately.
Well I'm going to finish off by saying that I just love your card Tina and your brilliant idea's must blow your CE 'boss' away.
    Have a lovely day chick.

    1. Hi Boss

Thank you Steph, I haven't got a clue where my ideas come from. As the weekend nears I start to panic. I tend to run my idea past Paul 1st then when I finish the card it's totally different. I'll do a write up when I've finished answering my comments later today.

The birthday get together hasn't happened and is not on the cards as yet, and now the dark evenings are here we don't get to see each other too much. Maybe at Christmas I'll do a mince pie and drinks afternoon.

What part of the forest did you stay, as I could always drive out to the place and take some piccies for you to see how much it has changed, if any. I Could slap the drunken boy racers that think the forest is a race track too.

Glad you like my card too boss. X

  6. Hi Tina,
Oh my word Tina your brain must consist of a whole catalogue of designs because you keep coming up with something different and exquisitely stunning every Tuesday. I love today's card and it's so very different with the 'twirly' on the outside and I love have you have added small blooms to it......I love the uniqueness of it! Then there is the main part of the card...wow which is equally as stunning as the rest....I must get that embossing folder and those lovely tiny branch dies. Thank you Tina for sharing your wonderful pieces of art with us . Sorry I missed last week's card I was away for a few days at Margaret and George's....they always manage to keep my spirits up.
May I take this opportunity too to wish you a Very Happy Belated Birthday.....how lovely to have had two celebrations with your dear family and such an idyllic place as the New Forest to have lunch in , Thank you for sharing a part of it with us with the gorgeous photos..
.....Oh dear I've forgotten the most important thing too( from last week!)....the wonderful photo of Claire's future bundle of joy and the beautiful way she presented to you whether you will have a Grandson or Granddaughter such a clever idea and I was thrilled for you. 12. Hi Tina
A belated birthday wish. Sounds like you had a fabulous lunch. Love today's card but the dies you've used looks very different to the eternal rings doesn't it. This card is in my favourite colours as well.
The New Forest is stunning? My brother in law lives down by Iford Bridge and we often walk in the Forest when we go down. We've just come back from there. The road works on the A338 are horrendous. We went into Lyndhurst to the craft shop Sunday morning, but coming home the queues going into Lyndhurst were nearly back to the Bolderwood turning. I just ask him where this Inn is as it looks lovely.

    1. Hi Pat

Thank you for my birthday wishes, and I was thoroughly spoiled, twice. I know Iford Bridge and also the horrendous A338 as we have to drive along this road to get to Bournemouth to see Craig. Hey Ho It's only until June 2016, what a joke!

I know the craft shop you would have visited in Lyndhurst, I think it's Called Emmerald Crafts, fast on line service too. I also know Bolderwood, one of my favourite parts of the New Forest. That was one of my first dates with Paul, along the Bolderwood Ornamental drive, such fond memories. When you come down again I recommend afternoon tea at Rhinefield House.

The High Corner Inn is fritham way on Stoney Cross. I'm sure you would love it.

Sorry to waffle on, but it just remains for me to say say thank you for your lovely comment today and yeas the die is a bit different, and I cut it about a bit.

    2. Sorry Pat, that sounds awful. It was meant to read. Yes it does look a bit different as I did cut the top & bottom off of the die to enable it to fit the frame. that'll teach me to multitask. X

  13. Hi Tina. First of all, belated birthday wishes. I'm so pleased that you had such a good time with your family. Love your card, those roses are absolutely fabulous. Your photos are gorgeous and brought back some happy memories for me. Just over 47 years ago hubby & I spent our honeymoon in the New Forest. We stayed at East Close hotel on the A35 just outside Christchurch and it was absolutely lovely. Now we live in Northumberland so a bit too far to revisit but I would love to go back.

  15. Hi Tina. Happy belated birthday. So pleased you had two wonderful treats. Your pictures are beautiful. We do have some wonderful countryside and you have the pleasure of the wondering wildlife you just cant beat it. Spending time with your family on your special day is very important and as you have said there is always other days to put your tutorial on your blog. Your card is beautiful just wish i had half of your creativity and imagination. Would never have thought to use the eternal rings die in this way and it gives it a stunning over all look to the card. The flower arrangement with the leaves and twigs is amazing it just gives it that little bit of something different. Another one for me to try if i can work out how to do the mobile bit lol. Have a lovely week and take care Tina.

Thank you for my birthday wishes, I really did have a lovely time this year, and glad you like the pictures. The detour I make after going to the wholesalers is through Bramshaw, and there is a particular part that the donkey's take their little Dinky Donkey's. It is so beautiful and by the time I have spent watching them my frozen food has defrosted. (What a hardship)! Really pleased you liked the card and that you will give it a go. If you would like me to do a tutorial on the mobile, I will. Thank you for a lovely comment Denise.
