A ROSE

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone

Well what a week I've had since we spoke last. On Tuesday last I had a dispute with my slippers, the left one decided to grip the floor but my knee decided to move anyway. I had the most excruciating pain in my knee and ended up on the floor, so for the 1st part of the week I was resting it in bed with supports and lots of pain killers which made me sleep a lot.Hence why I didn't reply to you all, and by the time I was up and hobbling I thought you wouldn't return to read them. So Please accept my apologies and I'll try not to be so slack in the future. PROMISE!

On Saturday I went to see Swan Lake with Claire. Paul drove us to the theatre & picked us up afterwards as I couldn't have driven. If you had filmed me climbing up into the car you would have got £250 from you've been framed, what a farce. After taking a couple of strong painkillers, Claire & I had an absolutely fab evening. It was just very special spending time together doing something that we really enjoy. As we were waiting to get out of the isle she said Merry Christmas mum and gave me a big kiss and a hug. Perfect ending to a lovely day. After dropping a very tired Claire home, Paul thought he would top the day by taking me out for a meal. We ended up at a burger van, and had a mushroom cheese burger & chips at mid-night. How romantic, when we looked at each other we had tomato sauce around our chops. Romantic or what!!

Latest on the Platinum:- I rang the shop as asked , and was told the machine had arrived with him and said it would be sent out Friday afternoon and I would get it Saturday or Monday latest. Today ( Monday) at 3.55pm I rang to say it hadn't arrived only to be told "they" had sent the wrong machine and he was waiting for the platinum to be delivered this week sometime. ENOUGH NOW! I really wanted to blow by this time but very calmly asked for a refund, and he said he was doing the refund while I was on the phone. I only hope he was telling the truth, I'm sure he was.. I'll check with the bank tomorrow. So if anyone knows where I can get a good deal on a Platinum machine, I'm all ears.

It's Claire Baby shower this weekend. She knows she's having one but doesn't know when or where. I have been making crackers with hats & treats inside, goody bags to take home, and filling miniature baby bottles  with sweets for gifts for the games Anthea has planned. I made a cute little pram bunting to hang over one of the doors, but when I went in my workroom this morning there were 2 really guilty looking kitties and 2 chewed little prams and the bunting was on the floor. So needless to say they are banned from my room until party day is over. Their sad little faces has almost made me give in but NO!, cute or not they are banned.

Before you all fall asleep after this long blog. This is my penultimate card for Creative Expressions. My contract ends with them on the 14th Feb. It's normally a year but I've had 18 months with them, and have very much enjoyed my time with them. Next week on the 9th Feb will be my last card with them. Good News though, or I hope you think so.  I will still do my Tuesday cards but I will be using all my other dies that have laid dormant over this time. I don't say the cards will be any better, just more variation on products. So, that's all my news this week. I hope you will still visit my blog after the 9th as blog life will keep on going here. See you same time same place next week.

Here goes!

  1. Morning Tina, oh you do make me laugh with your comments, I know what you are going through with the pain in your knee because I did mine on the 10th December and have been suffering big time ever since, had a course of anti-inflammatory tablets but still in a lot of pain, went back to Dr. who then sent me straight up hospital for x-ray, finally after 2 weeks got the result only to find that my knee is just bone grinding on bone, there is no cartilage or padding in between so he has referred me to surgeon, that was 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear, looks like it is going to be a long journey, anyway I am waffling aren't I. So pleased your evening went so well with Claire (despite the pain) and I think the impromptu late night meal tasted wonderful, so romantic as you say.

I didn't realise that your contract with CE was coming to an end but believe me I love your blog and everything you make so I will still be joining you every week as your creations are amazing.

Now to today's card, well what can I say ...............Amazing........Stunning.........Gorgeous.......
    Stupendous.........Brilliant.......oh the list is endless.

Thank you so much for sharing with us all.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

    1. Hi June

Sorry to hear you also have a dicky knee and that you have to see a surgeon, fingers crossed you don't have to have anything operated on. I haven't got time for a dicky knee, I've got a grandchild to chase around. I know she won't come out running, but it won't be long.

It's really lovely to know that you will still visit me on my blog every week, and I really love hearing from you, and my goodness that's a wonderful comment to leave about my card, Thank you so much June.

I really do hope your leg is better now.
It's a shame about your machine I admire your patience I would have definitely not been that calm!!!
I will definitely still be returning to your blog. I look forward to seeing all your creations.
It's been a busy time for me so I have not posted on my blog for a while I need to do so this week.
It was my big 50 birthday so my girls organised a surprise party. It was fantastic and I can honestly say I knew nothing about it.
Then I was sent on courses at work and now my husband is poorly. It's man flu but the poor love is suffering I just hope I don't catch it.
The card is gorgeous I love square cards they are my favourite xx

My knee is not as bad as it was, but still taking the pain killers. I went to the wholesalers Monday and pulling the trolley around didn't do it any good. Hey Ho!

Really pleased to read that you will return to my blog after next week, and that you look forward to seeing my cards, Thank you.

Happy belated 50th birthday, and what a lovely surprise. I turned the clock back after fifty, and am happy to say I will be 40 this year.

I hope you're not suffering too much with your hubby's man flu, and fingers crossed you don't catch it.

Thank you Maria, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

    1. Hi Elaine

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, but didn't realise everyone actually came back over the week. That is so lovely to know, and won't be so slack in future.

I think next time Paul takes me out for a meal I'll take a bib, you wouldn't believe where my mushrooms and onions ended up.

Thank you Elaine, I'm so glad you liked the card this week and for leaving such a lovely comment, and that you like my blog too.

I know what you mean about being on a DT, but one thing I will say about Creative Expressions is the quality of their products, so I guess that goes towards not being able to use other products to show your own cards off. Unless you have time to make other cards in between your blog day you do feel like you've had your wings clipped. I'm really pleased you are going to stay with me and ain't going leave. I'm sending you a virtual glue to make sure you stick with me. Thank you Elaine, and such a lovely thing to say about my blog.

      See you again soon.

  5. Good morning dear lady,
Well your weeks are never boring are they? So sorry to hear about the dispute with your slippers but the way you tell it to us, like June, you did make me giggle. Going to the ballet with Claire and
ending the evening with you and Paul having a romantic 'meal' (even with the sauce all over your faces!Haha!) sounds like it was perfect to me.
I can imagine the look on those cute kitties's faces....'it wasn't us mummy honestly' haha.
Tina all your followers visit you not because you design for Creative Expressions but because of your exquisite designs and no matter what product you use I know that they will be just as exquisite. I was looking at your designs before you were with CE and will always continue to do so.
It's not what you use it's how you use it so long may you keep making your stunning designs.

Not forgetting your oh so stunningly elegant card today....ooooh I must get some of the primrose card (I tried once and couldn't get it anywhere....must try harder!)and the rose I feel i could just pick it and put it into a vase...absolutely exquisite Tina and not forgetting those cute little butteflies.
Hope this coming week is less painful and you and Claire enjoy her forthcoming babyshower and hope to see some lovely photos if you get the chance. Take care lovely lady

    Lots of love and hugs

    2. Hello Sheila

I think sometimes I would like a quiet week, but not a boring one. I think I could join the olympics javelin team with the distance I threw that slipper.

We did have a lovely time at the ballet, but a couple of times during the performance Claire said look at my tummy and our little bundle was moving around all the time, she definitely likes classical music and I think she thought the applause were for her.

Kitties still banned from my workroom, but finding it hard to work without one of then interrupting me for a cuddle, I don't know who misses cuddles more them or me.

What an absolutely lovely comment to say about my cards and to know that you were with me before CE, and to know you will be with me post CE, Thank you so much Sheila.

Really pleased you liked the card this week, it was slightly different for me, but you really have to have a butterfly or two, don't you!

Going to the wholesalers for the food on Friday, and Claire's friend Anthea her son Jake & her mum are coming up up to help me cook and decorate the house and garden. So busy busy busy. It's also Craig's Birthday Thursday and he's coming up for a special birthday meal too. Bless him, I think he's feeling a bit left out, so we are going to make a big fuss of him, Bless him.

I will take some pictures of the things I have made and all the decorations and post them mid week, and I agree I love that sentiment too.

      You take care Sheila X

I got my platinum from Oyster Stamps and it came with a free magnetic plate, give them a ring or craft superstore has them on offer, craft world Glasgow also have it on offer and are very good. Hope this helps.

    1. OH CLARE

That's sounds awful. I keep putting off going to the doctor's about my knees as a couple of weeks ago I wrote that my doctor told me to get a bike to help with the crunching. You need to exercise them, she said. Last week, after my fall I knew where I'd like to have parked my bike, but lucky for her I'd got rid of the bike.

Thank you for all the info regarding the Platinum and I will look at all the options later today, and it does help very much Thank you Clare.

Glad to read you are going to stick with me, Thank you again.

  9. i am going to say good afternoon Tina because i hope that it is a better day today than you have had this week. Criky flower you leave that kind of maneavering to my dodgy legs as they are quite used to tying themselves up in knots like that, oh and making friends with floors, carpets, stairs/steps, pavements and roads with no problem whatsoever. I hope that you are recovering and not trying the gymnastics or is it yoga again until you have recovered. I hope that you had a lovely night at the ballet with your beautiful daughter. I used to take Mum on a regular occasion to the opera at Edinburgh which we loved and we would make a day/night of it and really enjoy the night. it wont be long now until you become a granny and flower it is a total different feeling in the world. Kirsten has turned out to be a fantastic mother and just loves her baby to bits and Clare will be the same. Kirsten can't believe that Harry has turned 7 1/2 months already and isn't this wee tiny baby any longer, so enjoy this special time flower. I am sad that your talent is coming to an end with CE as i love your projects and cards that you make so i wont be going any where.
I love your single rose that you have made today, it is so stunningly realistic looking with the stem and leaves coming out of it. I am glad that you have made it without the thorns though as i always get hurt with them trying to smell the roses, so i'm glad it is a thornless rose. A beautiful card Tina the whole lot, beautiful. Thank you flower for the beauty before us today and try and take it easy with the exercise in future please as i don't know and could be wrong but i think your a tad old to be taking up gymnastics or ballet, i'm sure you have to be a couple of years younger, just a couple mind you.lol.

Lovely to hear from you again, how the devil are you, well I hope?

I'm really sorry to here that you quite often do carpet, pavement and road gymnastics, that sure is friends you can do without. I wish I could cross my legs like they do in yoga. God, that sounds dodgy! I mean the lotus position, but I've never been able to cross my legs, goodness, It's sounding worse than ever, what I mean to say I'm not very flexible, Phew!

Opera is another of my wants, but I know Paul, Claire and Craig would arrive with me,but then run away once I was seated. Maybe one day.

I cannot believe your Harry is 7 1/2 months already, where has that time gone. I have listened to so many lovely ladies here and realise I have to enjoy every minute as like you say they are not babies for long, and suddenly this little person appears with attitude, can't wait.

Glad to hear that you will visit post CE, and that you liked this weeks card too and you are quite right I am a tad old to be balletnatics. One day I will grow up, not yet though!.

  11. Hello Tina, like someone else said, I have looked every few days for your reply, but when one wasn't forthcoming, I thought I must have offended you. Never dreamt for one moment that you were doing your own form of gymnastics. It's not funny as I know how painful this kind of thing is, and I hope you soon recover. I just want to say that I've heard of Slack Alice, but never Slack Tina!!!
It's good that you both enjoyed the ballet, these moments with our children are so precious, but I am disappointed that you will not be releasing a DVD of your own version. Never mind, eh!!! Your daughter sounds lovely, caring and loving. Which is lovely in this day and age.
Your card today is exquisite - as usual - and it makes no difference to me who's DT you are on, as your cards are always beautiful and it will be a nice change to see other dies. Which sentiment die have you used today as it's beautiful.
Have a good time at the Baby Shower, don't do the splits or anything, leave that to the younger, more agile ones who are there. I could show you how to do them, but the last time, well I never recovered ha ha.
Take care, look after yourself, and wipe that sauce off your mouth!!!!

How could I ever take offense, as I think your humour is on the same level as mine. I just thought it too late to reply not knowing that people come back a couple of times. Not that I'm hoping for another round with my slippers, but I will remember to reply in future.

Sorry about the DVD but I think for all our sake's that that never got published, I think you would have needed sick bags.

Thank you for saying what you did about Claire, I really do think somewhere down the line with a dippy mum like me they both ended up caring and thoughtful. How did that happen!

Thank you Maureen for your lovely comment, and your fantastic humour . I couldn't put the sentiment on the product list as it wasn't a CE one, it was a Dawn Bibby stamp, Lily & rose stamp. It was the only stamp I had to go with the card.

I promise I will have a clean face, and no sauce in sight, and no splits, and will leave the more energetic maneuvers to the younger ones, not that I couldn't teach them a move or two.

  12. Hi Tina.
Smashing card as always. Although reading those products that I've used don't correspond with what I'm seeing? Or is it just me? That frame is part of a noble square set I have. Plus is ur flower orange blossom? If it is then it looks way different and pretty as always.

Anyways glad ur on the mend and ur ok. Sounds as. Tho u guys had a ball!!! I could just imagine u tucking into ur burgers with the sauce all over yer face that's funny.

I can believe CE are letting u go :-( I hope u find something else soon and I doubt u will be waiting long with ur talent.

I agree craft world in Glasgow are great to order from I get stuff there all the time. Can recommend June from there she's fantastic she got my calibur fixed even tho it was out with warranty. I go there when I can to buy goodies but if not I order from them on line too. Very quick service.

I had picc line trouble yesterday as they couldn't get bloods do a trip to hospital X-ray revealed it was sitting in my neck and not near the heart where it should be and had to be removed. I've had nothing but trouble with it since it went in.
So there gonny try my hand next tues but veins are crap so will see how they get on. If it won't go then s trip to Ayr hospital to get a new line in.
    Oh the joys lol.

  15. Hi Tina. Well i dont know whats happening with me this week i just seem to be having one of them weeks where nothing is going right. It was my sons stag weekend and i was going to see him friday before he went away. I got there to be told he had already gone to catch his flight and that i should have gone to see him on Thursday. So on the phone i got to make my apoligies. Then i thought my niece was coming on Saterday to do my hair when she didnt turn up i rang to see where she was she told me she was not due until Monday. Turned on to look at your blog only to see i am a day late. It must be one of them weeks or its an age thing lol. You do make me laugh with your stories of your week. So sorry to hear about your knee but thankfully its on the mend. So pleased you and Clare had a great night out. You and Paul must have looked a picture with ketchup round your mouths lol. I thought have thought you would be sorted out with your machine by now. I cant believe its taken this long to get sorted out hopefully the money is in the bank. I must stop waffling on and tell you about your amazing card. I do love those noble squares and your flowers are always wonderful, and i must say that sentiment is just lovely. I didnt know that you were finishing with CE but i will be following you what ever happens as you make some beautiful creations and it would be nice to see what you come up with when using your other dies and i would miss whats happening in the life of Tina plus your pictures of the beautiful animals. Take care Tina until next week.
    Best Wishes.

    1. Hi Denise

I think we were twins separated at birth, I think at the moment I'm living on another planet too and each day just mingles into the other, is it Wednesday already, Oh hell so much to do and not enough time to do it! Don't worry Denise, we all have day's, weeks like that it's normal. 2 men in white coats have just arrived to take me home!!.

When does your boy have his big day, and what are you wearing. I'm a nosy B aren't I.

Paul & I did look like a couple saucy dude's, not a good look, but a funny one.

Regarding machine, I have taken everyone's info on board and will be ordering a machine soon.

I don't call it waffle here, you come here and say how you feel, I found it really funny, hope you don't mind.

What a lovely comment to leave about my card, and that you will still visit my blog after CEDT, Thank you. I will put pictures of the forest animals on the blog when I have driven home via wholesalers so no worries there.

      Big Hugs

    2. Hello Tina. I've only recently found your blog. Your cards are AMAZING. Really beautiful. Sue Wilson is my heroine but your cards come a close second. I got my PLATINUM a couple of weeks ago from card craft UK for 119.99 free p,p I am over the moon with it. Best machine I've used. Best wishes Loraine Jefferis xx

    3. Hi Loraine

I'm so sorry it's so late to get back to you. We had our daughters baby shower today and things have been manic here. The last of the friends staying have just gone to bed, so I thought I would take 5 and answer you.

It's so lovely to have you on board my blog, you are so welcome and hope you come back again. What a lovely comparison to Sue's cards. That's a lovely thing to say, Thank You Loraine.

I have made a note of card craft UK for the platinum and will definitely be checking this out after the visitors are on their way home. Thank you for this info!. I'm looking forward to getting a machine that works as Spellbinders say they work. I guess I was just unlucky.

hope to see you back here soon.

      Big Hugs

  17. Hi Tina
This is such a beautiful card just stunning. I'm looking forward to seeing "Tina unshackled" cards, I must admit. I get that CE want to push their brand internationally especially as Sues dies are being picked up on by crafter's in the US, Europe and Australia but since discovering your blog, using Pinterest and looking at other blogs there is no one who makes like you do. I have to thank Lancs Steph too cos if she hadn't been involved and you hadn't been chosen I never would've seen your amazing cards or been conversing with you. 18mths is longer than most DT contracts from what I see (I looked in the past but felt my skills weren't up to it, now 1 a week is beyond me!) so that is something to be porous of I think. I think any DT would love to have you, they'd be fools not too!

I'm so sorry I didn't comment up til now, I had a migraine overdrive early last week, I know why it's happenin, my dodgy DNA again, but help will be hard to find. It's starting again now so I'll be off. Billy being a little hero just lately, very helpful and extra cuddly. The Mr is being a hero too, only fair to mention them both!
Take care in this wind, Hugs to you and all the family, Big Billy cuddles from my little 4 legged P.A!
