DT card GRUMPY

Hi my regular blog friends and to those just pass through, please feel free to stay and leave a message.

I was so upset about my friends 40th afternoon tea. On Saturday ( Valentines day ), Paul cooked me a wonderful brunch before he had to go to London to work on some blooming computers. He said we would have a drink together when he gets home. Paul didn't get home till 1.55am due to an announcement after he had been on the train home for half an hour, that there were works on the rails and he had to join the line for a bus home. Not long after Paul had left that day I felt a little bit under the weather, by 6pm I had the full blown tummy bug that is doing the rounds ( No Paul didn't try to poison me ) I hope!. I was up all night, and Sunday. I was gutted that I couldn't go to celebrate with my bestie & hubby. Paul went and and gave her the card I had made her and her flowers and he said it was a beautiful day. Ann rang me later that evening and we had a chat about the day, it sounded like she had a fantastic afternoon.

Another day now, feeling a lot better, not 100% but too scared to eat. Hey ho!

This is another card made with the Sassy Creative Expressions stamps, Luckily for Paul I'm not grumpy in the mornings. Hope you like this one.

Products used :-

Dimensions 8X8 card
Creative Expressions- foundations card- Gold & Mauve
Sue Wilson- Filigree 3d bow
Spellbinders- Matting Basics B
Sue Wilson- Scandinavian collection- Corner, border & tag die
Creative Expressions- Grumpy stamp
Sparkles- from my stash
Creative Expressions- piercing Ruler
Sue Wilson- Frames & tags- Dainty Rectangular frame
Sue Wilson- Rambling Rose Embossing folder
Creative Expressions- Cosmic Shimmer- Black
Tim Holtz distress Ink- Wild Honey

I started by matt and layering the gold and the mauve card and using the piercing ruler to give a decorative edge. I then did a smaller dimension of matt and layering with white and gold foundation card with an embossed layer using the rambling rose EF as a decorative background. I used the basic matting 3d dies and cut two different sizes, one for the main stamp and another for the sentiment. Then I cut 2 of the dainty frames and framed the lady and also the top and side of the lady and the sentiment. I scored the bottom of the mauve card and added the border die and folded into a ruffle and added glitz. Finally I added a bow from the 3d collection.

I hope you like this one.

I will put Claire's card up late tomorrow after she has seen it . I didn't get to see Claire  on her birthday 16th Feb ( Mon ) as she was spending her 1st married birthday with Toby and they were going out for meals all day.

Today when this blog goes out, Claire will be coming over to have lunch with me, she fancies a steak, saute potatoes and whatever else she wants to go with it. It's a shame Paul won't get to have lunch too, and cut her cake but even more for her to take home.

I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday, Talk soon, take care all

  2. Hi Tina, Grumpy or not you still make beautiful cards. I showed your card to my son - who was having a good old moan about his double -yoke egg being a single and it made him laugh.Keep smiling. Mary-Durham.

  3. Oh, poor you, bad enough that you feel ill, but worse when you miss the fun. But you were right, you would have felt worse if you had passed the bug on to the others. You can always meet up with them later.
The card is lovely. Looks like you have enjoyed using these stamps.
    Cheers

    1. hi Janice

Ann rang me in the evening and told me what a fab day I'd missed out on, if there is one lady I know my bestie deserved a fab day and bless her she sent some roses home with Paul. they were beautiful. That was my thought too I really didn't want to pass it on. That would have been a gift too far.

  5. Hi Tina,
I'm so sorry that your afternoon tea was a no no for you, and then for Paul to be so late home must have been such a disappointment, especially as you were so poorly, but I bet your friend thought her card was fantastic, anyone would.
Enjoy your daughter's company today, although it's way after lunch time. The menu sounds delicious.
Oops, I've just realised that I haven't commented on today's card. This would be perfect for me. It's not that I'm grumpy, I just can't be bothered to talk. Well, unless our grandchildren are having a sleepover and then I have no other option!!!!
I hope you soon feel a lot better, drink plenty and think of the weight loss. xx

    1. Hi Maureen

I was sorry too, to miss the afternoon tea I was really sad, as Paul said it was a lovely get together, and I would have loved it. I had a lovely lunch with Claire today, and asked if she wanted to move back home as I miss our get together's so much.

thank you for your kind words about my card.

I did say I'm not grumpy in the mornings, I just grunt and go about my way so as not to offend anyone.

  6. Hi Tina,
I'm so sorry you were unwell at the weekend. These bugs are awful! Poor husband too being stuck in a travel nightmare!
Oh Tina that sentiment could be for me! I am not rude - I speak when spoken too but I have a little picture in the kitchen which has a bear asleep on his paws at the table - caption - I don't do mornings! I sympathise with that bear.
Your card is lovely and it is nice to have some stamps like these in our crafty stash!
    Thanks again Tina.
