Another Male B'day Card

Hi everyone thank you for visiting my blog again and leaving such lovely messages, I really love reading them.

I will start with an apology first by not responding to the messages left on my last blog, as I was running after the invalid hubby also preparing a meal for his birthday yesterday and making him a card. I had to make another DT card ahead of time and get it sent to CE Towers by today. I was/am in the process of making a 40th anniversary card for my friend on Sunday also my daughters birthday card for Monday and my sisters birthday card for Wednesday.

Paul had to go back to the hospital today for them to check his shoulder. He was told he has to have an operation to stabilize his shoulder as he's in the high risk group dislocation on a regular basis, and they don't want any more damage done after his major op 6 yrs ago.

Thank you for all the lovely tips about taming my robin, and also the fantastic stories about your lovely feathered friends.

Maureen, this is Paul's card, you know the one he's going to get every year from now on. Thanks again for the tip.

Hope you like this one.

Hopefully I will post my friends anniversary late Saturday. Take care all. See you soon.

  1. Hi Tina, It's sounds to me as if you are on a bit of a cardathon! Wow, you have got a busy time with all the birthdays so close to one another.
I really love today's card . It is so manly somehow - and yet so stylish . Great idea. Thanks for sharing it.
    Take care,

    1. Thank you Myra For saying it's stylish, I just do not like doing man cards. Next year if I don't do what Maureen said, he's going to get flowers bows butterflies and sparkles. Only joking ( I think )!!

  2. Wow oh wow what a fantastic card with real style, but you did not say what the response was from Paul I do hope he liked it. If he knows what is good for him he will! You never fail to amaze with the diversity of your cards this one, just like all the others are wonderful, truly they are.
Can I ask a favour Tina please, sit down, relax, take a rest for five minutes and please don't forget to go to bed! I would hate you to forget and having so much to do, you just might! lol. Miracles you can perform, but the impossible takes a little longer remember.
So very sorry to hear that Paul needs an op, but if it will prevent a repeat of Sunday again, then it will be worth it in the long run, he does need that shoulder sorted before he comes back to the Lakes, stay positive.

    With love

    1. Hi Margaret

Bless you , he did like it and it was Paul that told me to put in on my blog so I guess that's a good recommendation. We had a lovely evening, Craig and his girlfriend came over for tea, Claire couldn't make it as she works so late. I was on the phone when Craig and Hannah arrived and I heard a bit of a scuffle in the hall. Anyway when I went out to the kitchen I had my hugs and then DOUG, Hannah Labrador poked his head around the island. I was so happy to see him and he came bounding over to me. I really do miss having that special friend around the house. Don't get me wrong I love my cats to the moon and beyond, but I miss that giving contact as opposed to I want, from my puss cats, nothing wrong with that though they can have as much as they like and more.

      The cakes were scummy!!

      Lots of Love

    2. Margaret, I did spell check as well, and the cake should have come out as scrummy not scummy. X

  4. Good morningnTina,
I like, like, I really, really like. I might take inspiration from your card for John's. Not till May I will probably have forgotten by then.....!!!
Glad Paul liked it ..... what's not to like about your stunning card. It's good to have everyone around for birthdays. It's good to have them round at anytime . My word it's going to be like a Card Making Factory to cover all those Birthdays. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ro everyone.....
I am sorry to hear Paul needs an operation. I should help stop what happened recently. More nursing for you, please take time to "draw breath"
Right better be off get some things done before we are "invaded" boys here all day. If the rain that is forecast stay away we will be out in the woods and walking. Plenty food, bread & milk in so we are all set.
    Have a great day

    1. Hi Patricia

It does feel more like a production line at the moment, but Hazel will know more about that than me at the moment. Between Paul and Claire I will just be happy when they are both sorted.

Hope you had a lovely day with the boy's. A walk in the woods sounds wonderful. Enjoy. Have a lovely weekend.

    2. Hi Jane

I'm trying again. The first message sounded incoherent, oooh that's a big word for me at this time of night. Thank you for your lovely comment and your thoughts for Paul's shoulder. He really doesn't want to have the op but he knows it's inevitable. I will be glad when Paul & Claire are sorted and we can have a break from hospitals.

  6. Hi Tina

A very smart card, like a well dressed gentleman! I do names on cards for guys as it fills the space where I'd normally put flowers/ bows/ butterflies/ pins!

Sorry to hear Paul need an operation. Hope it gets sorted quickly so the sooner he can get over it all and get back to normal as it will take a good bit of recovery. Best wishes to him

    1. Thank you T

I had a few big spaces to fill, really wanted to put flowers and bow, but stuck big black pearls instead. If it is going to take a long time for the appointment to come through, maybe we can go private and ask for a job lot and get Claire and Paul in at the same time.

      Have a good weekend T

Brilliant idea, don't you think, I will gladly send you some 'rental' money!

    1. Hi Sandra

You are more than welcome and absolutely NO CHARGE. Now it's a shame we can't work out the same for our children. Your Lucy & Sophie were born on the 4th of Feb and so was my boy/man Craig, so I don't think the card swap would happen in this case. How strange the coincidences though.

      Have a good weekend

  9. Hello Tina,
This is a great man's card, really stylish - not over the top - and as you say, putting a name on it makes it even more "manly". Mind you I do love lots of elegant frou frou on ladies cards. Which embossing folder have your used, it's perfect for this type of card.
I have told you honestly, George has never recognised his Birthday or Christmas cards and he's been getting the same ones for over 20 years. He always says "that's lovely" and he has never realised that he gets the same bought ones and everyone else gets hand made ones!!! Rachel always laughs when she comes down as sees them. (his birthday is 27th December, so his Birthday Cards are put up among the Christmas ones). Family cards are on the mantle piece, sideboard etc. and other cards are on the doors and hanging ribbons. Bless him, he saves me a lot of time!!!
I'm sorry that Paul has to have an op, but if it prevents this happening again, it will be worth it. Have you any idea when he will be going in? But don't tire yourself out looking after him when he does have the op, and take care of yourself.
That's a genius idea of Sandra's, wonder if I could re-name George to Paul ha ha.
Take care, have a nice weekend

  10. Hi Maureen

You made me laugh when I read this message, I can't believe you have got away with it so long, but good on you, love your style.

Between Claire and Paul and visit's to hospital, I will just be pleased when they are both sorted and family life can get back to some kind of normality. What ever that is, it's been going on so long, but reading other blogs there are a lot more people worse off than us.

    Big Hugs

  11. VERY stylish Tina. Poor Paul. Good god girl will you and your family ever get to enjoy a happy healthy year ? Bundle all your cats up (oops almost wrote something inappropriate then) and get to that caravan when Paul has had the surgery and recover in peace and beauty. You are running yourself ragged lady Jane, your health is so important and when Paul comes out of hospital you'll be needed even more so please be KIND to yourself - right ?
    Hugs to you.

  12. Tina, sorry I just remembered that I had to give up commenting on this wonderful card for Paul, I love it like I thought Craig's was brilliant to, just think you can go wild with the flowers and bow on Claire's one. You are nearly as busy as I am. I have had a change today, as I have had raffle prizes to make for tonight. Hope Paul isn't waiting to long for his op. Oh he will be milking it for a while then??? But all said and done it will be the best for him to have the op. As Steph was saying please take it easy or you will be no good to any one. Loved Hannah's dogs name Doug is so right for a lab. What colour is he? Maybe you could borrow him some days, I am sure he wouldn't mind extra cuddles. Take care hazel xxx
